Overblown they may well have been. But did they have problems..........yes! We don't know how much any of them indulged in their secret lives. It is not important..........just to agree that the probelms existed is all I look for. I think if we can all agree to that...........then we can move on to more important matters about these men......................like the music! This includes all of them,Otis too! They all have problems. None of them are exempt! That's all I've been saying. No more,no less. Some were overblown, some were swept under the rug. Don't just expose a few. If we gonna talk about one, gotta talk about all and Otis is one of them. Truth be told,I'd rather not talk about none of that stuff, but I ain't gonna let nobody spread untruths, especially on folks who are no longer with us. They can't defend themselves. :nono

Now,we're getting somewhere. First of all,I agree with you about opinions being respected. I never disrespected your opinions, just challenged them. I never said that these men were angels I'm just tired of the way some members faults are always talked about ,while other's are put up with and excused...NO GOOD. All the publications that were written about Paul during his lifetime addressed his problems as EXAUSTION. Not what we heard thru the grapevine, that's a whole 'nother thread. We can start that one. Like Mary-Kate Olsen's troubles are subject to question...so are Paul's. I will stand behind what I say,I'm not enlisting anyone to join me if you don't believe what's being said, just let me see the look on your faces when you dig up those old articles and find that Paul's condition was described as EXAUSTION. In fact Paul talks about it in his interview in SOUL. It seems like when the other members say something,it's gospel. HArdly anyone pays attention to what Glenn said in his interview with Maurice Watts,Dennis' interview was the biggest seceret on the board. The things that Eddie and Dennis said on Donnie Simpson said was blocked out due to the attention paid to their SOCKS! Only a few took time to get past the socks and listen to what was said. Richard said some things in that article that was IGNORED. I've read Otis' book, didn't IGNORE any of it...and I'm well aware of the things that he said, and didn't say. I don't understand why some think that I'm trying not to acknowledge the guys "problems",I just say the problems wERE OVERBLOWN I STILL SAy that. ;D Just want to bring up a point.......even if the articles addressed Paul's problems as exhaustion................I still knew about the drinking rumor wise. It's like Arthur Ashe..................I knew he had aids before he came out publically and told us. I just didn't know how he got it. But for a long time they didn't write exactly what he had........just speculated on it and when it got out he decided to set the record straight and tell us he got it through a blood transfusion. So the spin doctors were at work trying to protect Paul as they should but it was still known by some, if not all. None of it is important to me. I loved Paul and all the rest. It is why I'm here to find others who feel the same way.

I'll leave that for Tony Turner. If it's HIS book, then tell about HISSELF! What gives him the right to tell anybody else's life? As far as Tony Turner's book goes, that's why Otis was gonna pull out of the miniseries when NBC wanted to use Tony's book along with Otis'!

Rumor has it that the group wanted Otis out, that's why there was talk of bringing David back. Hell, we might as well let Peter Vesey write a book on the Tempts..I think that we both know he won't get the facts right! He puts stuff out there that does damage to people who don't deserve to be damaged! Rumor also says that Michael Jordan won more championships in a row than anyone in NBA history,do you go with that? Spin doctors? Is that the reason Otis wrote the book because the spin doctors refused to help him,so he waited until folks died to "spin" the truth? Rumor also says that Eddie went on Donnie Simpson's show to talk about Otis' book! BIG LIE ! ;D

Rumor also says that Eddie went on Donnie Simpson's show to talk about Otis' book! BIG LIE ! ;D Because to me the rumor didn't matter..........I didn't rush out and tell everybody Paul was drinking just because I heard it. It doesn't make a difference to me. If Otis told something he shouldn't have.....who are you to say he shouldn't have? YOu weren't there and neither was I. He could tell whatever he wanted to if it iwas a part of the storyand it had something to do with thestory of the group. Some may not like that but if you are going to write something and say Paul left the group.......you need to give a reason why.......it was said Paul left of his own valition........and others say Otis forced him out...........it is a matter of what youchoose to believe. But what does either version change? Nothing in my book. The only people who can setthe record straight are those who were there........and that don't include none of us. Enough has been said about who did what and who didn't. It seems we calm down for a minute and then its right back to the negativity. Even on the Legacy thread.......the fact the freakin cd is on the charts should make Temptations fans happy but it doesn't..........those who blame Otis for all the bad will never be able to say he does anything good for this group at all so why continue the fight. It just ain't worth the time or words used to fight the battle. I thought we were fans.......not critics...................I guess I was wrong.

I agree ABA we keep going around and around. I am a Fan, Not a Critic! I am glad the Tempts are still around ...both groups. We can make our own decision as to what went wrong with Paul. Truth is we will never know. All we can do is spectulate. I don't blame anyone for the problems Paul encounted in life. I am just glad he left a "Legacy" of music for his family and fans to enjoy.....
