The Temptations - Legacy Motown Records
In 1961 Five guys got together and created one of Motown's Legends the "Temptations". The band has lasted the test of time which is inline with the latest single "Sill Tempting". What I really liked about this Temptation album is they haven't given into the more modern Motown funk sound they have stayed true to the sound that made them famous over the years. This album is long over do for adult radio.
Tunes getting locked into my Media Player playlist.
Baby It's Me: One listen to this song you can see where Nelly, Brian McKnight and Sean Puff get their creativity from. This will be the biggest record on the CD.
Still Tempting: A song about the history of Temptations

That review is far too candy-coated and idealistic to be believed....LOL!! They have absolutely given into the more modern Motown funk sound and they have definitely not stayed true to the sound that made them famous over the years - at least not from a musical perspective. Having said that, there's nothing wrong with updating your sound. Vocally, they are still quite a force, though, and regardless of what they do to the music, the vocals have remained the source of the magic on the Temptations albums. This album is proof positive of that undeniable fact.

I'm not disagreeing with you, Ed, because I think you aren't exactly saying what you appear to be saying.
The vocals are there. The harmonies are there. But no song should sound like a song of 40 years ago unless the singer or singers have remained stagnant. They are merely copying The Temptations.
But this group isThe TEMPTATIONS. They are a living, viable force which evolves, grows, and explores new avenues.
Any living thing which does not do this, DIES.
If a writer is writing the same book, he wrote 40 years ago, he's dead. (I know some try to do this.)
If a painter paints in the same style he did 40 years ago, he too is dead.
What I deplore is the suggestion that this is even desirable.
I think the reviewer is saying they are still classy, they have values, they have standards, they are a quality act. And these qualities are seen in their music. They aren't going down the wrong path today merely to sell a record. The musical values they treasured in the past, they still treasure. And that is what is good. But the music changes as it evolves.
But you can evolve without following any trendy thing. You know the different between fashion and style. Fashion is a trend; style is forever.

You can update your sound without losing your trademark sound. That was not done on this new cd

The Temptations sound is VERY evident on these tracks, you do not know what you are talking about in regards to this wonderful album, go listen to Live in San Pablo thats more on your level - bootleg and cheaply produced. Time out! I did not come at you like that and will ignore this outburst of crap that you talk. I don't know you,you don't know me,I do know that you don't want to go down this road with me,and if you don't know...you need to ask somebody! This "sound" as you call it is a far departure from Temptations sound as you can get! My level is not for discussion . I am NOT the topic of this discussion. REMRMBER what I'm saying to you,PLEASE! Talk about the group, you could never reach up to MY level....kill that noise!

But you can evolve without following any trendy thing. You know the different between fashion and style. Fashion is a trend; style is forever. LOL! Sorry, Jane. I guess I didn't put that across properly. I meant that, while the musical "sound" of the Temptations has been updated, the vocal "sound", while not sounding like the classic Tempts, is still quite viable and substantial in nature. Although vocally, they still don't sound like the Tempts of old. They can't. Almost all the singers are different. They do, however, sound quite good and should be looked at as a very good vocal group rather than as the "classic" Temptations. If you can do that, you'll be pretty pleased with this one. Ed
