The Temptations, Legacy (* * * )
The original Temptations saw their name as something to live up to. Forty years later, the lineup led by founder Otis Williams, which includes former Spinners lead singer G.C. Cameron (It's a Shame), strives to uphold that legacy. Unlike so many current groups whose members all seem to sound the same, the Tempts' hallmark has always been the blending of five distinct voices. With the gritty Cameron and rumbling bass Joe Herndon joining tenor Ron Tyson and smooth Terry Weeks, the harmonies in this model of The Temptations are particularly rich. Stay Together, their midtempo single, lets them show off their range and versatility, as does the sexy Something Special, driving Round Here and soulful Fifty Fifty Love. These current members have clearly embraced the group's proud history as the Emperors of Soul. As they state on the heartfelt album opener, they aim to be Still Tempting. -Steve Jones USA Today

Thanks for putting it in. I was a little late reading my USA TODAY.
And so glad to hear that everyone loves LEGACY as much as I do.

This is so true! I am not a fan of a lot of the male groups that are out today because everyone sings on the same key there isn't any harmony there.

come on now ........... you all know Mike's not gonna like anything unless David, Paul and Eddie rise up out of the ground and start recording. This is not funny. Why would you say something like that? Am I supposed to like it because Otis said to? Hell, the only way for the group to get attention is for them to record again,or go to the vaults, which receives more attention than any alledged "LEGACY" will ever.

Can we get back to discussing the cd....
I still think that the mark of The Temptations is the harmony. I love the blending of their voices. I have always been impressed with harmony in male groups. Like Enchantment, The Soul Stirrers, The Four Tops, The Stylistics, Jackson Five, The Chilites, Blue Magic, The Dramatics, The Dells all had great harmony.
