No. What makes the Temtps unique is that they have a kick-a** bass singer!!! And it needs to stay that way.

No. What makes the Temtps unique is that they have a kick-a** bass singer!!! And it needs to stay that way. Does that make the rest of the C5 un-unique? Watching that "I Can't Get Next to You" Clip without Eddie was erie. Though the uniqueness wasn't completely gone, it was wanting. It Also made me realize four ain't gonna do no matter whose missing. If Melvin or any of the others had been gone, it would've still been weird. Even in the movie, when "David" didn't show up until Get Ready was over looked strange. Yes, Melvin's bass was super important to the group. I once saw a show with the Tempts a couple of years back, where there were only four of them; Otis, Who had to perform sitting down because of knee surgery, Ron, Bo and Terry. Otis said that Harry was recuperating from an illness. The music, vocals and choreography was as tight as ever, but without that 5th Tempt, the show was, in my eyes, incomplete. I paid for five Tempts and i wanted to see five Tempts. No one man was ever bigger than the group. Their solo years can attest to that. "Once a Tempt..........", i.e. Dennis Edwards and the Temptations Review. Genn Leonard's The Temptation Experience, Ali Wooodsons' Emperors Of Soul, Richard Streets Temptations, i'm runnin out of breath, and Damon ain't done yet! They were 99% unique when they reunited in the early eighties. It would have been 100% had Paul been there. I can't imagine the same fire of Cloud Nine, Runaway Child, Ball Of Confusion , You're My Everything without that 5th Tempt. The missing Eddie proved that. I guess that clip without him was kind of prophetic as the years went by and some went solo without achieving the same success as with the Tempts. With much much much love for you Ivory, I do agree that Melvin (is) the man. -Nate "Boomer"
