My very favorite Paul lead is on this CD--"Last One Out is Brokenhearted." His voice is perfect for this song.

What gets me is that GREAT songs like "Love Is What You Make Of It," "What Am I Gonna Do Without You," "Only A Lonely Man Would Know" and "That'll Be The Day" never made it to a studio album. Both With A Lot O' Soul and Wish It Would Rain have a few less-than-stellar fillers. Either album could've benefitted from the inclusion of any of these songs. They could've turned those good albums into great albums. "We'll Be Satisfied" is just cool...if for no other reason...because you get Paul, Eddie AND David all singing lead in one song. Plus, it's got the same melody as "Since I Lost My Baby." Now, ya gotta love that! "I Know She's Not A Mannequin" seems like a good idea that went horribly wrong. I love the sound of Ruffin's voice with that rolling bass line, but the chorus just brings this song to a screeching halt...and the lyrics aren't worth remembering. With a few chord changes...and a new subject matter...that could've been a great song, too. But hey, it's the Temptations. Their talent shines through even on the bad songs. Hmm... wonder what else is hidden away in the Motown vaults!?! Reels and reels of concert footage, perhaps?

Yeah, I'm not even sure how THAT one made the L&F album.

I agree. I wonder what the story is behind the lyric change from the '62 version to the '67 recording. 1962... They call me the joker 'Cause I...I'm so gay;1967... They call me the joker 'Cause I...I always play;I have a sneaky suspicion.
