I believe that's when the change happened, since he had(according to reports) missed some shows. Which meant that he was out of the Supremes/Temptations gigs and the Cloud Nine change.

Motown never fired him....he was under contract! That's why he tried to go to another label and Motown sued him because he was under contract!

I'm surprised they know who Ruffin is/was. Didn't David and Eddie talk about leaving Motown as early as 1967?
