I was at the concert and seated in one of the front rows. Those suits were a perfect choice, and I praise the wisdom of whoever chose them. It was night. There were 100,000 people there. The background was black. Whoever chose the suits took those facts into consideration and chose suits which would be visible from afar. Since even the closest seat was at least 20 feet away, those suits were an excellent choice.
Their dance movements were in complete unison. Terrific! And they sounded perfect.
People were in line for blocks to enter the Festival hours before the Temptations performed. They were carrying lawn chairs, etc., which were placed all over the place. And there they sat holding on to their space until the performance.
I was staying at the same hotel as the Tempts and actually on the same floor. I saw Bo working out in the exercise room before the performance. I rode in the elevator with Adrian Williams who was surprisingly talkative and charming.
And that's my claim to fame.
I have no idea of the difficulties of performing on a huge barge waaaay up in the air, but it certainly must have felt somewhat strange to be waaaay up there.
And the suits looked good with the jackets on. Actually it was surprising to me how well the shirts looked with the jackets on. All very tasteful.

Jane - did you get a chance to talk to Ivory while at the concert?

No. I was sitting right in front of the Temptations. I thought I saw someone off to my right who looked like Ivory, but she was walking further away to the right side and talking to some people.
It was a beautiful night. I had been watching the weather forecast the whole week, and the early forecasts predicted rain. But it turned out to be a perfect day and evening.

glad you had a good time jane, sorry that you were so close to ivory and you too didn't hook up! i disagree with the suits, but you are entitled to your opinion. i would say they were the equivalent of unsafe at any speed.

Yeah, it was perfect weather wasn't it. I'm agree with Jane about the suits. Any more subdued color and we woulnd't have been able to see them. And since we were THERE that means that we are right and the rest of y'all are wrong. Jane, when you saw BO in the exercise room, did you run in there and jump on one of the tredmills next to him? I would have!!!!

ivory - you did an about face on the suits- color or no color - they were ugly. theyalso had the ugliest gayest shirts on. if they couldn't been seen, then the venue must have been a poor one without adequate lighting.
no, i wasn't there. it is true. but from your pics and your comments i can surmise that you needed a better setting for them. the water area was pretty and it seemed like very nice scenery, but we're talking concert here.

I'd guess or hope that these suits, which are truly ugly close-up, are like stage make-up on actors...which looks truly ugly close-up also. I would hope they reserve these uniforms for those venues where the audience is more distant and the increased visibility is necessary.
They looked very nice in the sherbet outfits I saw, where the audience was more up-close and personal. They might have gotten lost on the barge in those outfits however.

ivory - you did an about face on the suitsNo I didn't. I did not like the SHIRTS with the suits, the color of the suits by itself was fine. I called them the "Bananna Peelin'" suits because that's what I've called them for four years. I name all of their clothes after food, "sherbert" "lifesaver" that's the rules. if they couldn't been seen, then the venue must have been a poor one without adequate lighting.
No, they couldn't be seen because they were a long a** way away. i can surmise that you needed a better setting for them. Now, THIS is true. If they play Riverbend again I probably won't go see them. I've sat in some places that will cause you to get spoiled REAL quick.

i know you like to be very close to them to the point of bo or terry bending over to sing to you, so riverbend doesn't allow you that luxury.
i guess for that night they should have been OTIS WILLIAMS AND THE DISTANTS! ;D
