Having done it myself I will say that I enjoy it when they bring one man and one woman up to do the song. In AC we got champange not t-shirts. I don't think you trivialize the song because you allow someone from the audience to sing it. To me when you don't have a singer who can sing it then that's what I have a problem with. Richard didn't do it for me but I understand why he had to sing it. Sukka you say you didn't pay to see someone else sing the song but if you were there with your wife and they asked you to come up and sing it, you can't tell me you wouldn't get your butt up there and sing the song to your wife. I don't even want to hear it! ;D ;D It's an honor to be up there suk. A once in a lifetime thing that you can take with you forever. TO BE ABLE TO SAY YOU SANG WITH THE TEMPTATIONS is something very few can say they did. I don't care which combination of temps it was....hell it could be the review it would still be an honor. I know you sing better than me so if they call you, get your butt there and do it!!!! ;D If Jonel, her daughter and Ivory and me can get up there so can you! Well, speaking just for me, I personally would pay $$ just to see you, Aba, get up there and make the Tall, Talented, Tempting Temptations look like short people LOL!! (and I know you wouldn't murder the song ;D ;D!)

I love the C5, but I tht does not stop me from enjoying the current lineup. They deserve credit for having enough talent and nerve to try and step into the lineup. Those are some big shoes to fill. Even though everyone brings his own thing to the group, the ability to preserve and grow is not easy. Yes, I wish there were no need for replacements, but time and life has made that necessary. Thanks for the good and the bad.

new temptations attempt to create new magic from new songs and new music classic temptations were the ones that CAPTURED old magic and never let it go! Well lets face it. The classic 6 aint never gonna be replaced by anyone and thats the truth no matter what anyone says. But the current line up are who weve got, now if this was a group that didn't have a legacy behind them and having to live upto such legends such as Ruffin, Williams, Franklin, Kendricks, Edwards etc then they would stand up on their own merit cause they are a good group and surely having G.C now will just add to the legacy. What I enjoy about The Temps is that after so many years they're still going and still making fantastic music. Forget the whole Otis should've quit after Melvin died, as for that forget that the temps should've stopped when ruffin and kendricks left. It hasn't happened and they're still here tempting away. Lets look at the new line up. Ron Tyson his credentials speak for themselves, now this guy is never gonna match Eddie simply because no one can. But he has a unique voice which i love to hear. Harry Mcgilberry Jr easily one of the best bass vocalists, you listen to his futures singles they really do remind you off Blue next to Melvin Franklin. Now sure once again he ain't gonna match 'BABY BLUE' but hell hes good. Terry Weeks another one good credentials fantastic voice he just needs to take care of his voice more and try to stop it getting so hoarse. Otis Williams. From the start this was his dream he has carried on the legacy and forget all the politics of the situation and just lets look at the facts. If THE TEMPTATIONS weren't still around today a lot of the magic and mystery will have left our lives. The magic of The Temptations is they are still a fantastic group and still selling out concerts. Same with The Four Top's although they're is a difference The Four Tops aren't recording any more the temps are. Otis is'nt an exciting ground breaking vocalist such as Ruffin, Edwards, Kendricks etc. But he does have a good voice there's no denying the man that. He is a background singer simple and I bet he hasn't had more than ten leads in his temptations career. Whse complaining? He isn't. G.C Cameron credentials once again speak for themselves. He plyed his trade and waited for his chance he became a spinner and that was a fantastic combination for the group. He did some fantastic solo singles as well. Now i think this is a good move on the temps part by making G.C the latest temp. Best of all he is an original member of Motown therefore his singing capabilities will be more suited towards the temps than bo's was. It isn't just about being a hell of a singer you have to have it in the heart. im not saying Bo wasn't a good singer and didn't believe in the songs but the vocal styles are different today than in the 60's and 70's. G.C I think is coming in at the right time and will make a fantastic contribution to the temps.

Well said. I look forward to hear what GC brings to the table. I have been here through all the changes and continue to support what ever combinations of men comprise the Temptations by buying their music.
It was said to me if you play any record long enough it will wind up a hit.I don't know about that. I only want people to give them a fair shake. You aren't going to find anyone, The Review included who sound like the C5. But to me that is not a big deal. I am not waiting for those guys to come back. I will take the current line-up and live with what they and the Review bring to the table.
You make a good point that most people don't have a thumb nail of the knowledge we have here. So when they go to see a show they don't go wondering who is a Temptation this week. They go to be entertained and this line-up will do that. I can sit beside some people at show who ask questions about the group and when I answer them they are surprised so much has gone on in the history of the group. They end up saying that for all that has happened it is a miracle that they are still performing but they put on a great show and and are glad they game to see them. They leave with a new respect for the guys who keep the tradition going. That's all I really want. Keep it going!
One of our members, Kalisa2 said she would never go and see the current line-up. I told her I would go to see the review in NY if she went to a Temps show. She said she didn't like Bo's voice but since I flew to NY and saw the review she went to a show. Now she didn't come out a Bo groupie but she had a different take on him after seeing him perform. She said the TEmptations she saw that night were pretty good and she would see them again. That's all you can ask of a person. I in turn went to the Review knowing Dennis but not a whole lot about David Sea. I left out of that show a huge David Sea fan. Mikenyc, davidseafan and Kalisa 2 made sure of that! One thing I do know is that neither group needs to defend themselves for any reason. Not for who is in the group or what they sing. Dennis has always been my favorite lead ofo the Temptations so when I wnat to hear the real thing I go see him. But I have ties and history with Otis and his group so I will continue to go see them perform as well.
I think the current edition of the Temptations do a good job at entertaining the audience. But if you go looking for the C5 then you will be extremely disappointed just as you would if you go see the Review with those same expectations. They both do a great job with some of the greatest music of all time!

I disagree on the point about if the Tempts weren't around today that a lot of magic and mystery would be lost.....that didn't happen to Beatles' fans....why would Temptations fans be any different?
