I actually like Tom Joyner and he is entitled to his opinion. My thing with Tom is that while I agree that he's entitled to his opinion, I have a problem with him using his show as a vehicle for it. For example, I don't let my personal views on any of the Tempts effect what I put on my site. I'm talking about the main site, not this board obviously. I try to look at it from another fan's perspective. They could care less if I have issues with someone in particular, they just want to know "stuff." So I try to give 'em stuff, drama free. Tom's audience is a LOT bigger than mine.

What's wrong with you people. We all look good!!!! And I found out that I'm not the oldest around here. There are some who are older fans than me. What is important is how young you feel and I would have to say I feel at least 30 or maybe 29!!! ;D ;D

Actually, no..... it's like this. Before the Review came out on stage in Pueblo, I didn't have any preconceptions. In fact, I was half expecting a "not so lively performance." (As far as they are a little older now, etc. and based on the PBS Special.) Well, from the moment they came out for "Standing on the Top," it was *not* that way. It shocked me!!!! I thought, "Look at that energy!" Now, I've not seen the Classic Five live, so I'm not going there.... but I must say I was impressed! Then Otis' group on Oprah....again, I have *no* opinions one way or the other.... they walk out, start "Get Ready" and it was like Senior Citizens on parade. Even Bo seemed to lack energy, and isn't he the youngest? Maybe they didn't have the space to move on Oprah's stage or something--that crossed my mind. Maybe the sound mix wasn't good. I'm not going to make any judgments based *just* on that one showing, which was brief. I'm going to wait until I see them in September.... but I'm hoping it is better than what I saw! Peach YOU are funny,I couldn't have said it better myself! temptsinfo.com/smilies/wtg.gif :yourock:

LOL! Bo's wearin' a wig!!!! ha ha ha haaaaaa!!!! You know I'm never gonna let that one go away!!!! Heee heee!!!! Funny. But yeah, that's really not a fair comparison. Maybe you should compare the PBS show to the Oprah show. See them both and then decide which we know you'll do 'cause you're a smart little peach! She already told you the Review rules! Besides,Peach noticed that tag that said,Jermaine Jackson,Get It Together,Dancing Machine Afro Wig that Bo's wearing ! Peach won't be fooled by cheap Imitations ! Plus she has a FANTASTIC ear for music !

What's wrong for Tom using his show as a vehicle for telling it the way it is ? Otis used his book & the movie for a vehicle to trash his former groupmates,so fair exchange is no robbery! Keep up the good work,Tom !    temptsinfo.com/smilies/wtg.gif

Tom's audience is a LOT bigger than mine. Yeah his audience is a lot bigger but he isn't GOD. He tried to stop people from seeing "Barbershop" because he didn't agree with a comment made in it. Very few of his audience went along with it because the movie ended up making over 80 mil in the theater and it was #1 in sales for several weeks after it came out on dvd. He dogged R. Kelly when "Ignition" came out but that hasn't stopped R. from being Double Platinum and not dropping out the top 15 on Billboard. If Tom likes Dennis over Otis that is his perogative but it still hasn't stopped The Temptations from selling out shows selling or making new recordings and actually having a record contract something Dennis still doesn't and probably never will have again. The tour Tom set up last year to help get The Review out there was unsuccessful because of lack of sales but The Temptations tour this year with the same lineup is selling out shows so obviously Tom's influence is not as strong as you think Ivory. Tom does a lot of good for the community. But his personal opinions are just that his opinions.

Not to get us off-topic, but I never did understand what the big hub bub was over that. Something about Dr. King, right?

Something about Dr. King, right? Part of it was the comment made about Martin King. He was upset about the comment made about Rosa Parks and he was also upset about the explicit comment made about Jesse "Baby Daddy" Jackson. Tom brought Jesse "Baby Daddy" Jackson's son on the show for a commentary about the movie I can't think of his name but he was making comments about Cedric "The Entertainer". But like I said before that was Tom's deal he is entitled to his opinion even if I thought it was wrong.

That's sad, because if a pervert like R.Kelley can get respect, then a Hall Of Fame, multiple grammy winner like Dennis Edwards, you should throw rose pedals at his feet and treat him like the King of Zamunda ! Picture Tom setting up a tour for Dennis.....I'm sorry but that's the most thoughtless remark made by a supposed to be music lover! I know that the Review CRUSHES O's boys without much effort, but they do that to a lot of acts on a regular bases. They just don't sound good on that CLOSE-N-PLAY you got! Get you some REAL SOUND and then, maybe you will have something to contribute to MUSICAL Discussions and not expose yourself as the HATER you are! Funny thing is you don't know why ! R.Kelley's new song "I Wish It Would Rain Golden Showers" ! Young Rain at that !

Where is the Hate? I don't go on the board and comment negatively everytime someone mentions something about The Temptations current lineup you do that. Someone posted something about Bo's new cd and you came in with the negative comments not me you. Just because I stated that the Review's tour failed last year isn't spewing hate its called telling the truth. Just because The Temptations are selling out venues with the same artist this year isn't spewing hate its called telling the truth. Just because The Temptations are still recording and releasing new material isn't hate its called telling the truth. Just because I happen to like a group that actually has a tenor who can sing falsetto and a true bass is not hate its telling the truth.
And as far as R. Kelly goes he is a multple grammy winner too so your point is? I don't know anything about golden showers because I haven't seen the tape of him and the teenager. Now are you saying that you have?

Then you must be talking about the Dells, when you mentioned the tenor & bass thing.....you can't be talking about O's boys! Not in a serious discussion ,and with me ? Nobody is more sub zero than you when it comes to David Ruffin,Eddie Kendricks,Dennis Edwards & the Review which you have NEVER seen, very seldom heard, and know painfully little about ! And If That's Not Hateing Thee....Then All I've Got To Say..........UMM,UMM,UMM,God Didn't Make Little Green Apples,And No Good Music Is Heard In Houston, Texas At Anytime !
