My First Time... was that the song they had out about two years ago? If so I think that was Marques, too. I remember thinking about how big his head was in the video, lol. I'm talking about singing. I know Romeo raps, but I want to hear the boy SING! LDB wasn't in the group at first, I don't think. I can't remember. Either way, they've all come a long way, 'cause them boys used to be scary. I saw House Party 12--I mean, House Party 4, and Romeo and LDB are some good-looking brothers now. But I must digress. Well "First Time" didn't sound like Marques to me but I guess it could have been him. I found my video of "Da Munchies"! HAHA It was back to back with "Please Don't Go." I looked up the lyrics to that song, (I have it too but it's not that good in quality [sound-wise Sukka] and the video is the same. I thought it was just a bad mp3)... anyway, I found the lyrics and they tell who sang what and they had a guy named Half Pint in the group who was replaced by LDB. I remember the change because he had different eyes from LDB. They were in House Party 3! The only House Party I actually watched and I loved the song they sang in that. I didn't like that after "Tear It Up" and "Da Munchies" all they did, except "We Got It" and "Give Up the Ghost" were slow songs. I thought they didn't fit their name with songs they were doing. They were so trying to be Jodeci or Boyz II Men, I thought. After they changed their name, I lost track until I saw the "First Time" video. They had just lost touch with me mainly after "Give Up the Ghost." They did too many slow songs for me.

sammy davis did a fab job. paul did too. sammy could sing with class and style, but paul seems to put so much emotion into his singing.

I have footage of Paul on "The Flip Wilson Show" and "Leslie Uggams Show" and let me tell you it is heartbreaking to watch. I received the footage of both shows from the young lady who used to run the "Temptations Forever" website along with some other footage of Paul from various tv shows. (I love me some Paul) There is clearly a HUGE difference in his early performances and the performances of the early 70's.

I can see the difference on the footage from "Ed Sullivan" when they do "Psychedelic Shack." Compared to Paul's moves and being "spotlighted" if you will, on "I'm Losing You." By the time they do "Psychedelic Shack," he is doing Otis' moves and he's been moved to the back. Plus, he just looks unsteady on his feet. Peach

Don't forget Paul was a sick man! I saw all that footage including some on Flip WIlson and a few other things, Paul didn't necessarily look drunk as much as looked sick to me. Somettime drunk can mean animated and I saw a man struggling as oppposed to one drunk!!!! He didn't look like he could keep it together very well.

Oh, I totally agree, Aba....when I put that Paul was unsteady on his feet--I was going to put that I wasn't meaning that he was drunk. That he was obviously not well.... he seemed more sick to me. He just seemed weak, more than anything. 1%-) Peach

whatever the case, it seems like melvin and paul had the love of performing to the point tht their health didn't seem as important to them. eddie was singing with one lung and dying of cancer!
dedication-certainly. wise choice?-who knows.

Sometimes when the only the thing you've ever done is one thing....forget the fact you're great at it.....you don't want to give it up no matter what. It could be a fear of the unknown or just not wanting to do anything else. I notice that the old TOm HAnks who was carefree and funloving is now more measured in his comments and more serious about his projects. He is doing all he can to stay in touch with the real world and it is hard to do. When you get that big you are no longer in touch or in reach of/with the normal folks no matter how hard you try. They cannot relate to what you go through as an entertainer/singer/acter/athlete. No way. There is a discipline required to perform everyday that some people can handle and some can't. I think Paul was having a hard time balancing the two as well as being ill which didn't help his situation.

sadie hawkins dance is something that's been around for years- where the girls ask the guys instead of the other way around.
