So, tonight was my first time being pulled over. I've never had a ticket or anything so I was kind of worried... and it's my aunt's car. Ihad gone to McDonald's for lunch down the road and I was on my way back. I was behind one of our trucks and I sped up to pass it and when I did lights came out of nowhere and got me right at the turn to the street where we're located. Normally, I'd do 40 on this stretch, 5 mph above the limit. When I had passed the truck I noticed I was going 50 and was going to slow down but was caught.
Now, the officer came up to me and the usual deal I've heard on tv and movies. I gave him the info he needed, and told him I was on my way back to work. He asked where did I work and I replied Krispy Kreme. He told me he'd let me go with a warning since he said I had passed him just before the 45mph sign. Actually he stopped me in front of it. But he told me to be aware that before that sign is 35mph. It was great to be left off and I'm glad. I had known about that stretch, several co-workers and former co-workers had been pulled over here and the concensus is basically, this is all Ashland police does. Ashland is probably the best place to be a policeman because nothing goes on there. The biggest thing to ever happen was the sniper. I had even considered applying... much better than Richmond where I'd see murder upon murder.
I will be more aware from now on.

I got my last ticket back in 1983 for going 70...on the freeway...in California! Ha! I was the slowest guy on the freeway...probably the only car he could catch! ;D ...don't look back...

I drove through Virginia this past weekend, and everyone I saw pulled over by the cops had NC plates on his/her car. Of course, drivers from NC were passing me like I was going in reverse.

I had to attend a driving course and the instructor knew exactly what Va. county I had gotten the ticket in. He said that they are notorious for pulling over NC drivers

Remind me to stay the hell away from your area..........especially when a cop who stopped me there once didn't know the difference between a chevy and a caddy..........You know you going down!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

I've got a stiff ticket in Germany once, and them cops got me real mad ... My car had an American license plate, and I was driving home from work just as fast as anyone else did. They must have liked my car very much, because when they waved me to the side, one cop said to the other, "Ah, yo've got yourself that black projectile, huh?" They thought I was American and made some funny remarks in German -- until I showed the officer both my German Passport and driver's license. Man, he got some red ears I let him fill out the paperwork and then, after he'd finished, I told him I'd changed my mind and would not pay the fine right away."I think I'll ask my lawyer first," I said. That's when he got red ears again PS: I'd like to add that my brother-in-law is a lawyer; didn't help me, though, I had to pay the DM 70 (approx. $ 35) ;D But ... the guy's red ears were worth the price :laughing

Weaky, I think, the best thing to do is to say "I'm sorry." As Dr. Laura used to say,"Be polite!" And then see what'll happen.

I have never been pulled over thank God I wouldn't know what to do I'd probably cry Just remember its only a ticket .....You pay it off and forget about it. Most HP's are very proffessional and will help you through the process. Unless you are doing some outrageous traffic violation ....then you might have a problem ;D
