So, what are you guys afraid of?
I didn't think I was really afraid of anything besideds ghosts (lol) until today when I learned that I am completely terrified of heights! :shocked See, after high school I'm going to be going into the Marines as a photographer. I actually leave for boot camp June 6. Anyway, we do something once a month to help prepare us for boot camp and today we were going rock climbing! So I was all set and I thought it was going to be fun and all until I learned that we were also going to be repelling down a 40 foot wall. I was kinda scared by just the idea of it all, and then once I got up on the little platform dealie, I thought I was gonna die. :faint I made it as far as my feet half off the ledge and leaning back just a little bit before I begged to be let back over because I was too afraid to move! I guess I know what my recruiter and I will be doing a little extra work on!

I guess I know what my recruiter and I will be doing a little extra work on! Congrats on joining the Marines. That is a major decision. The Marines can only gain, and i mean it, from your enlistment. I'm sure you will be an outstanding photographer. I was in the Navy in the mid-70's. The most fearful part for me was when i had to do the swim test. I wasn't a good swimmer. Like comedian Richard Pryor once said, "water has a way of bringing your memory back quick!" My whole life passed before my eyes as i was in the middle of the pool. Suddenly, someone put out a very long pole and pulled me in. I haven't been in the water since. I'm not too fond of small elevators either. There is a small one in a building i do maintenance for. I got stuck in it about 8 years ago,. A minute or so later someone heard the alarm and let me out. it was a good thing too, because in another 10 minutes i would have been a loud, panicking, raving lunatic. Wait a minute, i'm already all those things! I will be praying for a safe and exciting tour of duty for you. -Nate "Boomer"

Yeah, and my imagination got pretty good too while I was up there because I could literally picture me smashing into the floor!

I'm afraid of the unexplained. There's a movie coming out called "White Noise" that is about how if you play back a video tape, you can hear and see ghosts on it ....... or something like that. Freddy Kruger type movies don't bother me, but stuff like that scares the poo out of me. I could never watch "Unsolved Mysteries" for that reason.

Did you see that Stephan King mini-series about a clown? I think the name was "It". My wife is a huge King fan. ;D ...that's life...

Yes, they show up in pictures or video tapes due to the fact they are made of lightly charged particles...they have a slight electrical charge! Boo! ...what now my love...

I'm afraid of Heights and I'm deathly afraid of spiders. My parents took me to see the original Fly movie when I was a kid and I think the end where the fly is caught on the spider web screaming for help as the spider comes toward it tramatized me. I'm fifty one years old and to this day I still can not watch that part of the movie. I can remember when I was in my twentys walking into my bathroom one night and seeing this big hairy spider on the bathroom floor. I ran back into my bedroom shut the door and sit on my bed half the night with a shoe in my hand waiting on that spider to crawl under my door to get me. Can you imagine me in a cinema plex watching Archnaphobia or 8 Legged Freaks ? I went ( don't ask me why ) and it wasn't pretty. I was a wreak for days after. Let me go see if I can find my bug spray. :faint

I actually did watch "It" for the first time about a month ago. It was scary the first couple times it showed the clown, but once I got used to it and realized it couldn't come any nearer to me than the TV, I relaxed. It think it's a really stupid movie. I heard the book's better. It always is!
Yeah, spiders kinda creep me out too! On of my best friends is so afraid of spiders that she'll cry every time she sees one! She's even afraid of fake spiders (like paper things you see around Halloween time.)

Due to a spider's nature, they say the average person will swallow six in a lifetime while sleeping. Bon apetite! ...it's growing...
