David was the one that they needed to talk to.  ... Mike over the whole time I have been registered to this board ... there are VERY many people I have gottin in to ... let's call em ... Debates ... You are on of those people I can say I haven't ... Usally what you say ... Is also the way I feel ... This is again one of those times ;D |

I heard David talking about recording "MY GIRL in a way no other described. David talked about the "mistake" when he started to sing the next verse before he was supposed to..he just ended up holding the note...and they left it in there! Otis never told us about that...Eddie,either. Neither did Smokey! Why waste time talking to,or listening to anyone talk about recording the song...other than DAVID RUFFIN...THE MAN WHO BROUGHT "MY GIRL" TO LIFE ?  ;D |

Great minds think alike! I heard David talking about recording "MY GIRL in a way no other described. David talked about the "mistake" when he started to sing the next verse before he was supposed to..he just ended up holding the note...and they left it in there! David: it was spaWNtanous, my mind was telling me one thing and my voice ... I couldn't think of the words, and the oo came out and I just kinda held that note. Later I said let's go back, And they said No we're gonna keep that.
