But the truth is you never grow up. No matter how old you are and what you are doing, there is something within that still keeps saying..."When I grow up I want to be..."
There's a SciFI short story that takes notice of that fact and lets people live thousands of years with the provision that every hundred years they can change their occupations.

The sensible side of me wanted to be an attorney. :laughing That's what my dad wanted me to be, too.... I was the one who was supposed to BE something in the corporate world. :laughing But my dream was to be a singer...or to be on Broadway... or both. I sang up a storm in high school, but my parents said it wasn't practical. So I went to college and studied Communications.....I was working in radio at the time. Then I realized that would be too stressful. ;D So a professor told me I was a great writer, and I switched to an English major with Creative Writing emphasis. My dad hit the roof. An English major??! Art History minor?!
In a sense, he had a good point.... too bad he isn't alive to see me now because he'd be proud. ;D It took almost 7 years after college to finally have a career that's *real.* Although it sucks getting old and actually having a job with a TITLE and some numbers after that title because that means.....GASP.....responsibilities. And stress. And deadlines. I miss being a little ol' peon. Those good ol' days after college making minimum wage as a proofreader at a newspaper. Eating Ramen noodles! ;D ;D

And, to whoever asked, that guy in the picture that Ivory posted was Carlton in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I LOVED that show! It's the best ever!

I wanted to play second base for the New York Yankees like my hero WILLIE RANDOLPH. As a child my Halloween costume was my Little League baseball uniform with a NY Yankee cap.
I had the skills back then.... I could've been a contender ;D
