Ron Tyson has a very bluesy Tenor voice. It goes nice with so much. It's got something different from all of the other first Tenors' voice. He has his own which I think has helped him make a name for himself. What do you think of Ron? Do you like Ron's Voice? Where do you think he rates among the Tempts First Tenors? rontyson.com/real_files/jmipbs.rmThis file comes from rontyson.com. Please visit Ron's site.

I like Ron. He's not trying to be Eddie, but he possesses his own qualities...and yet he fits the bill perfectly singing that first tenor/falsetto. He's right up there at the top of my list.

Ron ranks third behind "THE MASTER TENOR"...Eddie Kendricks and behind Glenn. Ron's GET READY I can do without. Don't understand why in over twenty years....he has UNDER twenty leads? I like Ron's voice....on the songs that HE recorded.....I don't care for his renditions of EDDIE'S songs.

Thanks a lot for this thread, Cheech.
When I came to this board, I knew nothing about Ron Tyson. In the meantime, he's advanced to my favorite Temp right after David. I love all of the songs I've heard by him. My favorites are "My love is true" and "Got to get on the road." Although Glenn's voice may be the more perfect one, Ron's has won me over with his naturalness.

I think Ron has truly been underestimated. He is good -- very good. He deserves to be discussed more often! And Cheech, I wonder what you mean by "bluesy" voice? He's all soul to me.

He has a very nice tenor voice. He obviously isn't trying to mimic Eddie. He has a slight twang in his voice. ;D

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS MAN, AND HIS VOICE JUST TAKES ME AWAY ON GOT TO GET ON THE ROAD. HE SINGS THIS SONG FROM THE DEPTHS OF HIS VERY SOUL. AND I ADMIRE HIM FOR THAT.
