Now, we're all smart enough to know that racism exists in this country, we see it every day, some of us more than others unfortunately. There's unfair hiring practices and problems in the judicial, educational and police systems
But I want to talk to you about tonight is something no one is willing to mention. Racism on Survivor.
Yep, I said it. Survivor is racist and here's why.
They CONSISTANTLY put black men on that show who can't swim. It is the STRANGEST thing. It's like they found the five black men in America who can't swim and put them on the show. Just like tonight on the season premiere, the only African American male contestant said essentially, "I am a college educated, successful, intelligent, articulate individual but I CANNOT swim." And then what did they do? They dumped him the water!
I mean WHAT is UP with that?
So I think Hype needs to go on the show and represent. From what little time I've known the man, I've learned he can do four things, he can sing, he can start a whole bunch of threads, he can drop the pannies and MOST importantly, HE CAN SWIM!!!!! Not only can he do it, but he's proficient enough at it that he teaches other folks to do it too! Amazing! I doubt he could teach me, but hey, some things are just impossible.
So get the kid on Survivor and let's quit living in the 19th century for crying out loud!
