Is there anyone on this board who is a fan of "Bonanza" besides me? Or am i the only one here out of 300+ members?! Im sure im not!! Even if you`ve seen only one episode, then please write, did you like it or not! This is the best TV-series there ever been! Yep! Adam, "Little Joe", Ben and Hoss - the Cartwrights.

My dad was a MAJOR fan of westerns... so in my household, where there was only ONE television... there were 2 shows you had to watch. Gunsmoke and Bonanza - there were NO remote controls and no cable TV channels back then. That was what we watched. I loved both of them.

Those are my mom's twon favorite westerns...I, being the youngun' I am don't care for it at all and I always wondered what she got out of it, but she grew up watching it in her grandfather's house. Now he was an even bigger fan! And basically what he watched, everybody else watched. But I do think Michael London was dreamy playin Joe Cartright...oh no, the theme song is starting to play in my head...

I was a huge western fan but liked neither of those. They were tv westerns and they always had a moral to the story which I hated. That wasn't real westerns. Now Adam was about the closet thing to a real cowboy on the show. I must say that I have been watching Gunsmoke on the Western channel and I'm revising my opinion of the show but not Bonanza.

My dad also loved ANY John Wayne movie. Duke was his hero.

Glad to read these replyes! Aba, i don't agree with you about Adam. Yes, he was the smartest of the Cartwright brothers, but real cowboys usually weren't a University graduates like he was! And what, there is a Western channel in US?! Wow!! By the way, Adam (Pernell Roberts) is the only Cartwright alive today!

I don't know where Adam went to school but he wastough on Bonanza and acted like a cowboy with an attitude. The great cowboys were John Wayne, Randolph Scott, Joel MCCrea, Hoppalong Cassidy, Rocky Lane, Tim Holt, Eddie Dean, Guy Madison and a few others I may not remember at the moment. But yes there is a 24 hour Westerns channel on cable tv here in America and as my Dad used to say, anytime is a good time for a shoot em' up! ;D

Those are fantastic pictures of Bonaza. I think it's about time for Westerns to come back again. We have had a surfeit of law-and-order shows and sitcoms.

I used to love me some Gunsmoke back in the day...My Dad loved it too. As for Bonanza, I didn't watch that as much, and it's funny, I used to watch Trapper John MD, and never realized that he (Pernell Roberts) played Adam on Bonanza. Once I realized it and saw Bonanza again..it was weird seeing the age difference in him on those two shows.
