My former company was *begging* me to join their group.... begging? Well, practically... but the point is  , they needed my help on a different contract, so I have work for August. PRAISE THE LORD!  Not sure if it will turn into something long term, so I need to keep looking, but just knowing I have my bills paid for one more month is a huge relief. They were *begging* me not to leave them....and I refused to let them go! Okay, I'm being stupid... I'm sad because I didn't really get a vacation! I was putting in 8 hours a day trying to find a stinkin' job! I couldn't rest! And it's right back to work....but I *am* grateful!! I am just praying *huge* blessings on this company so that they secure a few contracts this month and can have me back long term!! Peach |

Wonderful news and hope everything turns out for the best. I've always thought it weird that companies have a few bad weeks and let trained people go. Then things get better and they have to hire new untrained people. It all seems so senseless. I think they were lucky to get you back. And, you're right, it pays the bills for another month.
One man I knew was let go, and he said (and he's really modest) that he knew more about the business than anyone in the company, but he was probably older than the other employees so they didn't think they needed him. When he looked around and saw he was the oldest person, he figured his time was limited.

I had some friends saying, "I'd tell them where to put their contract work! And then whistle on the way to the bank to deposit my unemployment check." And I'm thinking, "HELLO? I have a little girl to think of.... I can't let pride get in the way of that!" I mean....unemployment doesn't keep us afloat very well.  Peach |
