I've just been watching the Ed Sullivan show DVD's of the Temptations in the 1960's.
And they are so good. I watched them over and over again. The dance steps are so elegant and classy. I much prefer them over the leaping steps I saw in the video made in Germany.
I know Eddie regretted leaving. I wish they could have discovered how to cure Paul's medical problems and Melvin's. I wish, I wish, I wish.
And I noticed the joy with which Ed Sullivan had them come over to talk to him. I think he enjoyed them as much as I did.
Watching "I Can't Get Next To You" I had an opportunity to compare that version with the one I have on DVD without Paul. It was interesting to see how they used the stage differently each time. Each had a lead, and they all looked so good dancing.
They were introduced for the "I Can't Get Next To You" with somewhat the same comments as in the Copa review. And here are "The Temptations with one of their new 'Soul With a Conscience' songs.

"Soul With a Conscience" huh? Funny.
Do you have the one where Ed goes ....... "Come here BOYS!!!!" I mean, I know he didn't really mean it like THAT, but still, it makes me cringe.

ed sullivan being in his 60's and the tempts being in their 20's, and ed using old time expressions, like fellas and boys, not necessarily come here boy like in racial days. ed really liked the tempts .
i like those tapes ,too jane. i have the same tape-i also like runaway child.
