I just finished watching a movie that i recorded in '98 called "the Thirst".... and I happended to record a preview of "the Temptations"......and on the preview of the movie.....they showed a few scenes that I sho' don't remeber seeing........one being Melvin and Mama Rose engaged in a heartfelt conversation on thier front porch.....the second being the Tempts backstage at the Copa when they are talking and then join hands and pray......and another one of the Tempts behind stage after Paul messes up "Psychedelic Shack".....with Otis sayin something about the audience seeing 5 Tempts leave offstage and not goin' back onstage unless there were 5...and then callin' Richard to take Paul's place......now those scenes are NOT on the DVD that I have.....so what's up those particular scenes not bein' included...

Yeah, I bet it's the same trailer you see here.......... imdb.com/title/tt0164292/trailersI don't know why they didn't make it in the movie (time had something to do with it I'm sure) but I'd pay GOOD money to my hands on them .............. you know, at least $5.

I think they deleted only the scenes that were true to life.

I just hate the VHS tape because they deleted alot of sceens in the movie like. 1.Paul and Eddie's rehersal at Otis house (just a lil bit of it not all) they cut the part before Otis dad comes in all of that. 2.Come up with the new name of the group(some not all) they only had when he came out to say they have to get a new name then it cut to the part when they had there thing for Gordy. 3.The Motown picnic all the way out. 4.When Otis goes to Paul's house to see him. 5.Backstage at the Copa when Flin wanted them to talk to him about David. 6.The part when Paul is singing at the piano very about this one. 7.When Eddie is singing in a club and David come's to join him singing. 8.When David is sitting outside and Otis comes to him and David says "Everything is right" or something like that. This is all I could think of right now it's late but the VHS is really a waste of money and I forgot about this until my sister had my DVD and I was forced to watch the tape boy was I like never again.

Well I wouldn't call it a complete waste of money...that is, if there's no possible way for you to own the DVD ;D At first I didn't see why my parents thought it was necessary to buy the DVD when we already had it on VHS, but I'm SO happy we did. My favorite scene isn't on the VHS, can you believe they would cut that? (Paul singin at the piano)...I was just happy that they showed a couple more Paul scenes, and the picnic scene and the scene where David sings with Eddie were very informative

See Ivory, thats whyyyyyy... I love you so! I have NEVER seen the trailer for the movie, and although I've already watched all of those scenes, it makes my day. Makes me feel like I had the opportunity to become a fan when it first premiered.

Now I would think that they should have because its part of the movie I would have been mad to buy Scarface and they cut out some of it like they do on TNT or something because sometimes u could miss major parts of the movie this is what I think. And I also like to get my money's worth but all in all it's still a great movie. ;D

Thanks, but I only know about that clip because someone else told ME about it. If I remembered who that was I'd give them credit.

The first time I laid eyes on the movie was in 2002, yes Jackie come late I am. I purchased the tape first and thought I was happy and satisfied until I came online I found out the DVD contained more movie. Well it was off to Wal-Mart to make another purchase, and I watch it at least twice a month still. Between this movie and Brown Sugar, I have repeat maddness. But hands down I watch this more. Now I've added To Sir With Love II. Can't get enough of that Payton fella.
