That's how I took it too, Weaky. Regardless of what anyone thinks of the movie itself, you have to hand it to Alan Arkush for doing such a great job directing it.

Again that was one of those tv moments. If you believe Dennis, it was no surprise to David that he was going to be fired. As a matter of fact....Dennis was supposed to have spent the night with David telling Dennis he was going to replace him and that he was giving Dennis he blessings. So again we have another difference of opinon. But it made for a great closing scene in part one.

As you said, though, this is entertainment and it really was a very well-written, well-acted, and well-directed scene - inaccuracies notwithstanding. Ed

As you said, though, this is entertainment and it really was a very well-written, well-acted, and well-directed scene - inaccuracies notwithstanding. Ed Right Ed, Those folks who had their first real look at the Tempts, I can understand thinking as they do................but after more research you can find that there was so much more to the group than a 4 hour Tv movie. I never gave the inaccuracies one thought as I watched it. The Melvin death scene.........the carjacking scene...........David firing scene.....or being thrown from a limo in front of the hospital........or Dennis singing with David and Eddie long before it actually happened.and god knows how many wrong faces with wrong lines in songs. Still I was entertained and so happy to be able to show people "SOMETHING" about the Temptations which we never had before. then I came here and people were disecting the movie like it was up for an Oscar or something. I said to myself, the movie itself isn't that bad. I was able to share with people at my job who saw it some stories I knew and answers to questions aobut members, none of which was aobut the drugs and alcohol and women. They were about the stroy itself. There are a lot of things to see.like the choreagrphy, the songs........the basic storyline..........and it was the Tempts for goodness sake. Now everybody is a critic..............calling the movie a lie and treated as some fabricated story to make Paul, Eddie and David look bad. I didn't see that. But it goes back to poetic license..........it looked better for David to be fired that way. I'm quite sure it was no where near as dramatic in real life. I noticed the treatment that Damon, Glenn, Ali and Ron got in the movie............none!!! But then I said this is not their story............it was geared to the C-5 and to include the stories of all those others would have made this thing 24 hours long instead of 4 hours. If the money had been there I would have liked to see a 3 or 4 part miniseries, covering the group and all its members. But that cost money and there is no way they could have done that. They probably had to sell the heck out of NBC to get it to two parts and 4 hours. I just don't think NBC thought a movie aobut a singing group would draw the highest rarings of any tv movie that year.

I was too busy looking for that part where Paul looks off to the side (I love that part for some reason) Does anyone else notice that this was a beautiful show of foreshadowing? It's sad but Paul turned his head away. He looked back behind him, while the rest of them were looking forward. It seemed to foreshadow that he was next to leave...Anyone else notice this? Maybe it's my own interpretation.. Never thought about that, that is great foreshadowing!! Nice observation =) I usually catch that kind of stuff.....

Eddie, Melvin and Paul did look like they were embarrased for what was happening even if Paul and Melvin helped to vote him out. Tess yea i found that as true to.... blue could barely look david in the eye.....eddie looked concerned...and paul did turn away...and it looked like he turned away in slow motion
