Gotta give it up to Alan Rosenberg who played Shelly Berger and my man Chazz Lamar Shepherd who played Elbridge "Al" Bryant.
Alan is a character actor who always seems to get this kind of role. He's just so darn good at it. The scene where the Tempts are coming off the stage and Paul heads directly to the bathroom is just fantastic. He plays it perfectly. I also loved the way he handled the scene where David is dismissed. Very well done.
Chazz can just flat out sing his fool butt off. I've said it countless times but I don't get how he doesn't have a recording contract. His voice is just amazing and he should be using it more. He also really captured Al's cantankerousness and it is to his credit that we don't end up hating Al by the time the movie ends.

I had the chance to see him sing at my church a few years ago....great guy too...I love him in all roles....7th Heaven; Sister Sister; The Parkers...he usually plays someone goofy though so it was good to see him in this role... |

Yeah, he was pretty goofy on "The Parkers". He played the dim-witted boyfriend and he did it quite well. I'm also officially jealous that you got the chance to hear him sing.

I don't remember his full name but Chris "Kid" something......he's the DJ that takes the guys to Johnnie May. He's in a bunch of funny movies; great actor!!!! =D

Lol, yep. He's a great comedian. Saw a movie with him in it the other day....can't remember the title. I wanna say it was "The Pest" which stars John Legazomu(however you spell it) but I'm not sure..........

I used to love the house party movies but his part in this movie was funny it's most definitely that jolting J-O-E getting down to the livvy in this Detroit City.....think I watch the movie enough?
