This song to me has a chance to be a classic, IMO. I think ALi Woodson is the last great lead singer the Temptations have had. As much as I like Soul To SOul, Lady Soul and Treat Her Like A Lady, if I had to pick an ALi song to sing to a fine lady, I would sing Special. The man tears the song up. When he adlibs at the end, " I PUT MY HEART ON THE LINE EVERY TIME CAUSE I KNOW YOUR LOVE IS SO SO SO SPECIAL BABY" That is ALi at his best! ;D. My second choice would be HOOPS OF FIRE and my third, TO BE CONTINUED. Anyone have any thoughts on which Ali song they would sing to a fine lady or one a fine lady would want sung to her? hmmm, special. I guess I wouldn't have thought of special as his best. but it's great. I am a hoops of fire man, myself. but maybe you're right. Ali does torch that song. But you are certainly right about him being the last great lead singer. but we'll see if i the future the other guys can match.

I dunno, it's ok ............ my favorite Ali lead is, strangely enough, something from his solo album "Turn Out the Stars" but I also like "Life is But a Dream" and "Touch Me." .......... can't forget "Do You Love Your Baby."
and "Treat Her Like a Lady"
and DUH! "Lady Soul"

I hear you all and I love all the others too. Hoops of Fire is awesome but go back and take a good listen to Ali on Special. If I were singing to a sweet fine lady, wanting her to know how special she was to me, well it just don't get no better than SPECIAL!!! ;D

Hoops of fire is my favorite Temps song. I’ve had a long standing request with David to sing this at my wedding. That’s if I ever find a man who understands he’ll always be second after a barn full of horses, and a certain soul singer. The prospective groom also has to sign away all rights to any closet space in our home. LOL, needless to say, David hasn’t been spending much time learning this song.
