There are some songs that are very special to me! Not because they`re so good or anything, but because when i hear them, they bring back so many good memories.
For example "Break It Up" (Scooter).
Some years ago i was in love with one girl and we had a wonderful time together. But after year or so, we broke up and since then, never spoke with each other again. Though we see each other almost every day (she lives not far from me). But i feel now, that i still have some feelings left for her and so when i hear this song, it brings back these great memories of the time, when we used to be together. And i remember, she liked that song too. And that`s why it is so special to me!
First love never dies!
PS. We didn`t understand the lyrics then and we thought it was great love song, but now, that i know english, i realise that it`s really, a sad breaking up song. Please get that song and listen to it (if you haven`t yet)!!
**** Is there so-called "memories song" in your life too, that reminds you about the good times you once had??

well, other than "Memories" by the Tempts, the song that reminds me of 'good times' is "September" by Earth, Wind, & Fire. I have always been a big fan of EWF. Just about any song by them reminds me of my youth.

I have too many memories associated with songs and that's a problem!! Some good, some bad....... I just received the Commodores Anthology today and some of those are just plain painful. ("Still" and "Sweet Love"...) "Leaving on a Jet Plane" by PP&M reminds me of when I was 5 or 6 and my mom would fly to Iowa to visit her mom. I would cry for days when she was gone. My sisters and brother would sing it to me and tease me, just so I'd cry some more. "I Can See Clearly Now" (Johnny Nash....Jimmy Cliff, etc.) reminds me of my childhood, but in a sad way. (Even though it's a happy song, I always thought it sounded melancholy.) Way too many to mention.......mostly songs tied in with my childhood. Wait a minute...you wanted GOOD memories. Okay.... "Up In a Puff of Smoke" by Polly Brown reminds me of summer.... sleeping in the backyard.... "The Night Chicago Died" reminds me of the summer of 1974... painting our fence, raiding gardens, etc. ;D These are all *good memories.* I don't have any good "love" memories..... when I met Anna's father, it was at a Beach Boys concert. We slow danced to "Don't Worry Baby" and now it is ironic to me. (The lyrics) A strong memory...but again, not necessarily good. Peach

Hmmm.... Amish Paradise reminds me of Washington DC Ah.... I dunno! There are a lot of songs that I know WILL remind me of things later that I listen to now, but since I'm still busy DOING it, it's not really a memory. Does that make any sense?

As I was watching the basketball game, I thought about something and was "spurred" to come in here and name a song that was stuck in my head all playoffs last year. I was hooked to the "Dig In" (by Lenny Kravitz) commercials last year during the playoffs. For me they built up so much anticipation and that beat was so tight in surround sound. Sure, this isn't a song that will go down in the books as a classic, but everytime I hear this I will think of that awesome Semifinals last year between my Kings and the Lakers, for me, one of the most exciting matchups of the NBA. The commercials were only about 30 seconds long but I looooved when they came on. ;D
