Jonel: I don't think anybody stands a chance agains Ruben, but then, I'm prejudiced.I agree, Jonel. With all your statements...they (at least the final 4) are ALL good, as Paula said "you're all champions" and she was right. But Ruben stands above the crowd (literatally and figuratively ) IMO. Personally, just based on Tues. performances, I would have said Kimberly was the "outie", but that's just me.

I watch just about every week and based on who is the most consistent, Josh should've been gone last week instead of Trenyce. I don't dig his country thing; I thought him singing Piano Man was his best performance.
I like that he didn't pimp the little girl like that other chick did last year with her son, but he did try to use that "I'm a Marine" to his advantage a lot.
I'm rooting for Clay to win this whole thing. Not because I like him but because if what they're doing with Kelly Clarkson is any indication, I don't want Ruben a part of stuff like that. They're milking this AI thing to the best of their ability and that stuff is getting old.

Millionaire ran for a while. It was just a game show, and they're still around. Been around for years.
American Idol is just a televised talent show. I suspect that this might be the last one for a while. Simon Cowell doesn't want to do another one right (and I think he is one of the main reasons people are attracted to the show) after this but there's nothing wrong with the idea of a televised talent show.

it's a tough call for me with the AI finalists. I really like Ruben's voice and would like to see him win just to break the mold of the traditional 'pop star' image. He's talented, spiritual, sweet, cuddly, loving, has a great voice and seems to be well loved by all who know him. I also like Clay - another super-talented guy who is just as nice as can be. He's a senior in the Special Education Department at UNC-Charlotte. All of the special-needs children/youth with whom he has worked say he is a dedicated, loving, warm, and very devoted worker. He is well loved by all of his friends and classmates. They had "Clay Aiken" day in Raleigh yesterday and he sang the Star Spangled Banner at the Durham Bulls game last night. Both of these guys deserve to win... Nothing against Kimberly... she just doesn't quite measure up to those two.

Hey tdallasw, I was just in Durham a few weeks ago and drove by The Durham Bulls stadium. Nice ball park. I wanted to view where Michael Jordan played college basketball at but didn't have enough time. All I can say is that's a looooonnnggg drive from NY to NC. Kalisa2, I like your Mount Temptmore thing, Motown need to build a monument like that somewhere.

Unfortunately, Kimberly got voted off tonight 5/14. Sorry all three can't walk away with the top prize.

She was awesome too. I loved her rendition of "Inseparable" and I liked the way she sang "Where The Boys Are" the other week. That lady is a star.

howard stern this morning talked about that you have to look good as well as sing good to be an american idol and that ruben is too fat to win.
howard's a jerk and i listened for 5 minutes before turning him off, but he may have a sorry point about the shallowness of our expectations in stars.

Critics agree that all three AI finalists are good and think they are better than previous groups. However, on a recent interview program Simon said that Rueben would win.
And the critics think Rueben has the best chance for success because he is more likely to record in the Rhythm and Blues field where there are no hard and fast rules for pop idols physical appearance.
I've only been able to watch one of the programs, the one with Lamont Dozier as a judge. From people who are regular watchers, I have heard nothing but good about both Rueben and Clay. However, I have picked Rueben from the beginning simply because he breaks the traditional mold image. People are sometimes predictable in their unpredictability.

I think they both deserve it. They're both great singers (although Clayton doesn't reach me emotionally) and they both seem awfully humble and warm and things...
But I would like it more if Ruben were to win Wednesday night.
