I recently have purchased several 70's sitcoms on dvd so far my favorites have been "Sandford and Son" and "Good Times" I remember watching both of these shows as a kid in the 70's and I must say looking at the unedited versions have been a real treat. I was so thrilled to see Bernadette Stanis on "Girlfriends" recently. I want to know why she hasn't aged since the 70's? I know she has aged but she looks fantastic! I read somewhere that she is almost 50. I need to learn her secret on how to look so fabulous. ;D www.valdefierro.com/timesd01.jpg [/IMG] www.valdefierro.com/wake01.jpg [/IMG]

"Good Times" is my all-time favorite show. And I agree with you, "Thelma" looks the same as she did back in the 70s. She was always my favorite "Good Times" character.

John Amos is from Plainfield NJ and I had a chance to meet him as he is a big Nets fan. He perfomed a one man play in one of my parks that was outstanding during the July 4th holiday a few years ago. Ms. Stanis looks fantastic. You're right is that a computer image stuck in there somewhere? ;D.
Fred G. Sanford..........what can I say. I still watch him everyday when I get home from work on TV land. He is too funny! A black Archie Bunker! Too funny!
And the Ernie Barnes painting in the background there. He is famous for his Marvin Gaye I Want You lp. I have a print of two of his works in my music room!

Good Times!!! I just saw some of the Behind the Scenes on E! (i know thats not the name of the it - but you know what I'm talking about) I saw J.J. walking in the airport in Las Vegas. At the time I think he had a radio show out there. My father was saying - is that him? is that him? Finally my father said, Mr. Walker..J.J. was pushing that cart you get when you have too much luggage..he turned around and said - "Yes"..my father gave him the soul-power fist and said, "whats up man"? J.J. said - "hey how you doing"? And we kept walking. I always thought James Evans was phine! I still have a crush on him..

D Diva I love the episodes with James on them (he is my favorite character) and I liked the first season with Penny (Ms. Jackson) too. I wasn't too crazy about the episodes with Keith on them. I guess I have a soft spot for John Amos because he is one of my favorite actors. He is such a versatile actor. I liked him on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, In the House, Fresh Prince, Coming To America, Good Times, Maude, he made a brief appearance on Sanford and Son once. He was Kansas City Mack in my favorite film Let's Do It Again. But my all time favorite role was when he portayed Kunta Kinte in Roots. He was fantastic and awe inspiring. ABA I found a link to the play that you are talking about.http://www.halleyscomet.com/halleys.html I bet it was a great performance he is a wonderful actor. Yeah I wonder if Bernadette has a micro chip in her. ;D
Kym I loved me some James! I used to love the way he called JJ Junior. He was the only one who called him Junior everyone else said JJ.

Those teeth in that movie were awful! My ma didn't pay too much attention to him but she did a lot of talking about that other guy, Calvin Lockhart. Can I just say that grown Michael scares me? Come to think of it, kid Michael did too.

Oh my goodness, I don't know whether to put this here or under "Favorite Tempt Experience", but since it's about John Amos, I guess it goes here . At the Universal Amphitheater last year when The Review was performing with the Tom Joyner Tour, I was priviledged to go backstage and say 'hi' to the guys in the Review. Well, who was right there next to me talking away with Dennis but John Amos!! Always a favorite actor of mine, I was thrilled to have the chance to meet him! I still wonder what happened with him, he was everywhere on everything for a while, and then *poof* nowhere to be seen for a long time...

Kalisa the last regular thing I would see him on was as LL Cool J's former football coach on In The House. But that was cancelled a couple of years ago. The last movie I saw him in was Disappearing Acts with Wesley Snipes and Sanaa Lathan. He was Wesley's character's father in the movie.

John Amos also plays the Chairman of the Join Chiefs on the West Wing. I think they've got him cast as a Colin Powel type character.

He was also on The District as the mayor up until last year. IMDb.com says that he's only six years older than Mr. Walker.

Glad I could help, I guess. My ma loves to talk about what a good-looking man he was. And it's weird when you agree with your mother about dudes.

Smalls was too fine. My father and I can quote that movie (Lets Do It Again) word for word. Selfish I think that was part of the problem with Good Times. There were too many DYNOMITE instead of more focus on the family as a whole. I remember how popular that phrase became. There were JJ dolls and even a song entitled "Dynomite" (ABA do you remember that song?)
