Missing teenager Elizabeth Smart was found alive in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy and has been reunited with her family nine months after she was abducted from her home. "We just believe in miracles and thank God she's alive," Elizabeth's uncle, Tom Smart, told CNN. Police say they are convinced she was kidnapped. A man and woman are in custody.

When I was 3, I wandered off from my Dad when we were shopping at the mall. I know how fortunate I am that I found my parents again (at least I think I found the right ones, ha ha) and was unharmed. It's such an ugly world out there but it's so wonderful to hear this good news. Like everyone else, I knew for sure she was long dead.

But this just strengthen's my belief (and I don't mean to start a debate here) that we should abolish the death penalty. Everyone KNEW that Richard Ricci was guilty, he seemed like the most obvious choice. And while he was in prison on unrelated charges, it saddens me to think that he died being falsely accused.

i am grateful to God for elizabeth smart's recovery. she has a lot of deprogramming to go through. it says today that this creep was also going after her cousin. he is a freak wacko evil man. he spent a lot of time down here in san diego with his wife and elizabeth. he was arrested several times for burglary and released! what's up with that?

we have been praying church wide for this girl and it's terrific news.

i disagree with ivory - i think we should abolish death, period! ;D
