ivory sweet, it's ironic that i have eaten all of the stuff you've mentioned and actually like it all preety much, although i haven't had any of that stuff in years, except ham. greens are part of my daily diet.
but it's not blech to me. it's okay.
one thing i do remember is ground beef gravy-some texas girlfriend of mine in the 70's used to make it and i would eat it with some bread. gross, but tasty.

Sushi ............ a prime example of something that is gross, yet tastey.

My favorite meal is red beans and rice, cornbread, and sweet potatoes. Put some sweet tea with that and I'm straight. And Ivory, you don't like any of that stuff?! That's all right; mo' be for me. ;D

sweet potatoes are an anti oxidant powerhouse! they have tons of vitamin a in the form of beta carotene, and vitamin c, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, some b vitamins, iron, and fiber. good energy food. definitely high in carbs, so not for atkins but very nutritious and if not sugared or buttered, great for you.
red beans are high in calcium, fiber, protein, carbs, and do well with rice, the starch provider. cornbread has some fiber if made from real stoneground cornmeal but lots of starch and usually white flour .

Yeah Dbaby, sushi is one of those things you CRAVE, make a point to go out and eat, but then the minute you eat it, you're like "What in the heck did I just put in my mouth!!!!" IRLM, I'm passing you my plate! ;-) sweet potatoes are an anti oxidant powerhouse! they have tons of vitamin a in the form of beta carotene, and vitamin c, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, some b vitamins, iron, and fiber. good energy food. definitely high in carbs, Oddly enough, the same can be said about Krispy Kreme doughnuts! ;D

Actually, I think the only reason I even eat sushi is because I think it makes me look cool .............. yep that's it. I'm about as shallow as they come!

I eat sushi because... I don't know. But it's true about the cravings! It's worse then Honeycomb! I'll be in the grocery store with my dad and all of a sudden I'll want sushi. But when I go out to eat it, I don't really eat a TON of it. And then they give you that gross ice cream stuff afterwards, that... uh.... ah! Green Tea ice cream! Ick! If someone sets green ice cream in front of me, it better be mint flavored!

I've never had that. It sounds nasty. I dreamed last night that Mr. Ivory and I were in some 3rd world country and we ordered all this Chinese food. (He ordered so much food for the two of us from a Chinese restaurant one time, they thought we were having a party and sent a big bag of fortune cookies!) Anyway, he ordered so much, some other people thought it was a buffet and started eating it when he wasn't around. "Uh-oh!" I thought, "There's about to be some trouble!!!"

ivory, dbaby- there's a restaurant chain out here in southern california called onami. they cost 12 bucks for lunch and 22 bucks for dinner. it is an all you can eat sushi restaurant. they have a 100 foot sushi bar with 60 kinds of sushi freshly made in front of you. they have another bar for rice, veggies, teriyaki chicken, miso soup, and they have a section for desserts including the green tea ice cream. they also have a salad and fresh fruit bar. they have a dessert bar with cakes and pies and puddings. they have a seafood bar with crablegs and lobster and shrimp and shellfish.
i like the tea ice cream. it's weird but so am i. i like the california rolls which are round like a tire with avocado and ginger in the middle surrounded by white rice and wrapped in seaweed. you dip them in a mixture of soy sauce and hot spice and it's so good.
BUT MIKEY'S RIGHT- SUSHI IS NOT CHRISTMASY! ;D

When I'm at home and haven't eaten all day, an all you can eat buffet sounds like heaven, and you can imagine you'll eat three servings of every food they have. Then, when I do go out to eat, I can only eat one plate and suddenly feel stuffed. And the food looked ever so good. I be like, "Man, stomach, can't ya take in a little more?"
