Okay. I've been packing for vacation and I've gotten to my carryon bag for the plane trip. Besides a thriller novel, I'm packing my Discman and a set of 8....maybe 10 CDs. This is what I've decided on so far:
1. Awesome-Temptations 2. The Very Best of The Spinners-Spinners 3. This is Where I Came In-Bee Gees 4. For the Love-O'Jays 5. For Lovers Only-Temptations 6. All That I Am-Joe 7. The Ultimate Collection-Four Tops 8. When She Was My Girl-Four Tops 9. Love Joe-Joe
If you were packing your discman, what CDs would you choose?

I am very lucky to have an MP3 player that looks like a regular CD player. Unlike most MP3 players that can only hold just a few songs, you can burn an MP3 disc for this player and have hours worth of music. Here lately when I've been flying, I've only taken two or three discs, one is a "Temtps Favorites" disc, the other is my favorite hip-hop and the other is just a "everything else disc." I made a regular "Plane Music" CD one time of Tempts songs that were appropriate for flying. I wish I had thought about it earlier or I would have sent it to you.

I remember once you mentioned that you were listening to "Since I Lost My Baby".......on the plane? Wasn't that right?

My taste in music runs all over the place. Eclectic is definitely the word for me. When I travel, I take along a small CD case with a few favorites. 1. Awesome - Temptations 2. Ear-Resistable - Temptations 3. Ultimate Collection - Smokey Robinson 4. Weathered - CREED 5. Songs in A Minor - Alicia Keys 6. Invincible - Michael Jackson 7. The Best of War - WAR 8. Ultimate Collection (made by me) Earth, Wind, & Fire 9. My own mix of hip hop - Nelly, JaRule, Ludacris, Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Mary J. Blige: (The Cleaned-up Radio versions) ;D 10. My own old school mix - O'Jays, Ohio Players, Parliament/Funkadelic, Commodores, Dazz Band, etc)

I'm such a freak that I take every one of my CD's because I can never choose. I'll have, like, a 100 CD holder filled with CD's for a two hour ride.

(((DBABY))) What an awful thing to go through just to retrieve your Temptations CD. I'm glad you are alright.
I've seen those MEGA CD wallets. The last time I saw one was at a wedding reception. The DJ that played had about 10 of them. I was amazed.....absolutely. Thinking...how cool to have that many CDs and to know when and how to play them, and plus to be witty and fun enough to introduce them properly. He even had a song to go with the cake cutting ("The Bride Cuts the Cake" to the tune of "The Farmer in the Dell").

Yep, that's right Jonel, "Don't Look Back" is the official "Plane taking off song," at least if the flight attendants don't catch me. DBaby, when I was about 14 or so, my parents and I went on a trip to Curacao which is next to Aruba off the coast of Venezuela. The flight was like six or seven hours and since I inherited my mother's over-preparedness I decided to take EVERY cassette tape I owned, probably 50 or so. Well, we were flying out of B'ham where my aunt lives and when my mother discovered that I was taking all of those tapes in my little bag, she said, "OH NO YOU'RE NOT!!!!" and I had to narrow my choices down to like five. "The Bride Cuts the Cake" to the tune of "The Farmer in the Dell," oh my. That's one of the MANY reasons I WON'T have a DJ at my wedding!!!! ....... The PERFECT song to play during the cake cutting is "Cut the Cake" that seventies song, I forget who it's by.

Ivory, the song "Cut the Cake" is by AWB (Average White Band) One of my favorite groups of the late 70s. Great song for a wedding reception! Old school lives!!

Sukkafu- If you like Basia you might also like Swing Out Sister. Are you hip to Paul Hardcastle or his group the Jazzmasters. Real mellow smooth jazz. Check out one of his Jazzmasters cd's or Hardcastle I or II
