Hard Poll, I love the Tempt's before anyone went away. My nephew has a group (J'ice) and I wonder about fame because they sound good to me. But I don't want to lose him to the recording world. My Girl.

the songs are great, but to have them live productive drug free lives without the breaking up of families and suicides and boozing, is my choice.

Well, of course we'd all like to have them live forever, but knowing that their substance abuse was the result of their own will power and not of their fame (directly anyway) I'd choose to have the music.

ive, they could 've been assembly line workers and still sniffing on the weekends. no guarantees. the sad thing happens today like to the tempts as you see so many uneducated un guided brothers who get rich from nba or nfl or music and don't know to handle it in a mature way. they're not business savvy and they get ripped off. they have no cultural background so they use recreational drugs as entertainment. they get hangers on who are friends as long as the stuff and the bucks are flowing.

Oh yeah, I understand that, and I would imagine it was very easy to take the wrong path. But, ultimately, it was David's choice to pick up that crack pipe, it was Eddie's choice to pick up that ciggarette, and it was Paul's choice to put that gun to his head. And, O and Blu aren't/weren't saints either (apparently.) They had/have choices in life to. I think O has his own vice, but the general concensus is that drugs is not it. So you CAN be successful in the music business and not have a substance abuse problem even if it's not easy. But what's that about the path to righteousness being narrow and winding?

I'm sorry, but I just can't imagine life without "My Girl". But, If I had my druthers I would have had each one QUIT while each was ahead (with some money and real estate), and not been fired by Otis or Berry or whoever. Then they could pursue whatever dreams they felt they hadn't been able to while working on the road. Ever play the game of Life? I'd have to come up with my own "Game of Life for being a Temptation" version. If they made poor choices, I'd give them options and opportunities to rehabilitate.

But did any of them really have anything while they were in the group? I remember something in O's book about how basically all they had was the "allowance" that Motown gave them. Sad. And technically Eddie wasn't fired. As for Paul, I mean for all intents and purposes he was fired, but was he ever cut off from Motown financially? I'm not sure. (Ivory's trying to figure out why she's always gotta be so argumentative.)

i can't imagine life without my girl either. the only thing is i wish people like janis joplin, jimi hendrix, jim morrison, who all died at 27 yrs old, brian jones of the stones, johnny rotten, syd vicious, the guy from milli vanilli, paul williams, david ruffin, eddie kendricks, bob marley, frank zappa, ozzie osbourne's guitarist, the guy who sang more bounce to the ounce, the list goes on and on,wouldn't be idolized as larger than life in death, like marilyn monroe. we enshrine these people like they're gods. they were talented people with a lot to offer and they foolishly chose lifestyles that were self destructive. not to mention notorious b.i.g.,tupac, and the other gangsta rappers. judy garland, and a host of others who drank and popped pills or committed suicide. what a waste!

Hey! Are you trying to tell me Jimi Hendrix isn't a god? (just kidding, just kidding, JUST KIDDING!!!!! But I picked yellow because I couldn't decide for awhile but now I would have to pick The Temptations and My Girl because I think, and it's almost like I KNOW deep down inside, that just about every single one of the Temptations would prefer the group because we all die someday (except for me, I just about die everyday. lol) and I know I would rather making a dent in history, to MATTER, then to be just your average Blu.

Ivory, David wasn't fired either. Remember he quit!! I loved that line in the movie. I tend to agree with Ivory in that the Tempts had choices. Otis did have a vice, it was women.

LOL! Shhh! Ms. Showme, you weren't supposed to tell anyone what O's vice is, it's a SECRET! ha ha Speaking of which, Dbaby, you're not allowed to go around O anymore. We ain't gonna let him get ya!!! Hope I don't embarrass (((((you))))) but for those of you (out there lurkin') who have met DBaby before, you wouldn't recognize her! She's just been blossomin' and bloomin' all over the place. Oh, btw, Orli said he's been tryin' to call you but you won't return his calls! What's up with that?

(((((Ivory))))) Well, tell Orli that he has the wrong number or something because there is NO WAY I wouldn't return his calls! Hehehehe......... Anyway, no, you didn't embarrass me. It's easier to get water from a oil spout then to embarrass me. Well, it depends on who you are I guess. This senior last year, gosh, all he had to do was LOOK at me and I would start blushin'. It was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!
