damon is a good example of how tough it is to replace a classic 5 member. i believe damon got the once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase his talent on the world's best r and b group and did a marvelous job on papa and superstar and masterpiece. he's got a tough deal with the BIG C but c also stands for courage... 8) i am impressed with damon's down to earth manner-he's reachable and friendly and sincerely grateful when a fan contacts him. although damon is not a classic five, he's in the phase 2 category in that he did sing on original classic hits and did appear with otis, melvin, dennis, and richard street, who's really a distant.... i also was impressed with david ruffin jr. and how nice he was . he's got a nice voice and has contacted otis but says so far no dice with otis... when damon or david jr. ever get to your town you best believe the voices will be there too!!!

Oh yeah, I've always loved Damon's voice. I don't think anyone, Eddie included, could have done as good a job on "Papa" as he did because his voice had that innocent quality that the song needed.

have you heard eddie's voice on standing on the top? it sounds like he's weak and straining to hit the notes. it's also too 'sweet ' when he says "all we're saying is we want the funk."-- that's a funky dance song with 2 powerful leads-david and dennis with rick james'strong voice. i love eddie but it seems like the cigarettes are doing the vocals on this one.

Yeah, unfortunately Eddie's voice had faultered ever-so-slightly by the time of the Reunion tour. But he was debonaire even until the end.

Ooh, I hate that Hall and Oates thing! (Not because of David and Eddie, but because of Hall and Oates, they just look so goofy up there!)
I've never seen an album from that, but I have seen the video several times on eBay.

no sirree fondue oops i mean ken-du but i bet they are not too available in print. i would love to see a compilation of all the solo acts in one big boxed set- the complete best of every temptation that went soo and rare stuff like otis on lead and some outtakes of the funk brothers, or like gladys knight and the pips do a song with the tempts. they would be collectors items.

well sukkafus, i clicked on the link that ivory fair set up to watch the montreaux jazz festival and to see damon harris and his tempt clones' concert. i was very very impressed. it was terrific, and a couple of times one guy sounded like dennis edwards! they speeded up the songs a bit but damon sounded very good and strong on cloud 9 and ball of confusion and can't get next to you. 8) all i can say is that i owe my gratitude to the very fair and gifted lady soul herself -MS. IVORY!!!! ;D 8)

Damon has and always will be one of my favorite Tempts, I saw him with the group in the 70's at the Apollo. He has a powerful voice, I was sad to see him go because I really did not like Glen Leonard. I am very happy that Ron came in when he did.
