Does anyone here think of their threads like a song on the music charts? I do  ... now don't make fun of me... This is my fifth thread. I have 2 hits but I don't have a smash hit yet and I haven't reached international stardom. I see it like this... you have a hit when you have one of those red hot icons. You have a smash hit if you have like 5 pages. What do you think? |

you are a hit with me cadeho! you don't have to have a 5 page ramblin' psychotic funky jive session that ends up so far in left field that if you didn't have the title in front of you -you would never remember the topic of discussion! those that are interested will respond. most are sheep and follow ivory and jonel because they the voices, and you know they want the voices...!  i get a few ideas in there but most of mine are usually too stupid to respond to without lowering yourself to my level of lunacy!  |

purina cat chow, chow chow chow! ;D what are we, mice or men? it seems the last two colorful posts had a common theme- the kittenish ladies united with the ground hog or weasel(that's me) stuck outside the loop. the mice are the same-the ladies gangin' together in the conga line of -yes otis, whatever you say otis, and the little poor woodchuck or gerbel can't break the CLIQUE! i guess it's just the insiders versus the newcomers. eddie can't be ugly or else your whomped. david can't be a failure or else your whomped. otis can't be dissed or else your whomped. opinions must have extra butter and syrup on them or else they don't get served at the int'l house of tempt flakes! |

sukkufu...my graphic was INTENDED as a humorous parody of your "sheep" and "brown-noser" comments (I don't have a pic of sheep following the leader)...the little gerbil isn't an outsider, he's a brown-noser. Humor is my way of dealing with what I felt were personal attacks...on me and other posters on this board.
I took offense to those remarks. I also find the "clique" comment offensive. I barely know most of the posters here beyond Ivory, and certainly feel like an outsider for my opinions on certain Tempts, past and present. That's ok, to each their own, and I enjoy hearing other's opinions whether they agree with mine or not. Ivory and I agree on virtually NOTHING, other than our love of music and especially the Temptations, and our love and respect for each other. But we don't feel the need to stoop to personal attacks on each orther or each other's opinions. Lively discussion and disagreement is one thing, and enjoyable...comments such as "sheep" and "brown-noser" are personally belittling.

i am offended at your being offended. i agree that ivory says that diversity is the rule, but not often practiced at the board. the diversity ends when someone wants to say something other than gushy groupie stuff - oh how cute his navel is-worshipping faulty human beings as if they're gods. they could've been but chose another way-the wrong way. i stink myself. I HAVE LOTS OF FAULTS AND IMPERFECTIONS. I MAKE JESUS CRY PROBABLY TWICE A DAY.I never said i couldn't take arrows- heck, you ladies have been whuppin' me for weeks for speaking my mind about some of these contemptable tempts. if i didn't like the group, and i didn't like the music, and the songs, and especially you fine people like kalisa2 and ive, and jo', tdal, fuf, cadeho,curet,dbaby,ken_du, missshowme,fairladysoul,and all the wonderful others, I WOULDN'T TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE SUCH A FOOL OF MYSELF! |

I think maybe our problem (at least mine anyway) is a. the words you chose "Dennis is a porker," and b. the fact that it wasn't really germane to the discussion. It came across as cruel.
Sure Dennis is heavy and needs to lose some weight, but so do most folks out there, myself included. It's not like we're saying "HE'S A GREEK GOD and anyone who disagrees should shut up!!!!" For us to disagree whether Otis is the antichrist is one thing, for us to disagree over who was a better first tenor, Eddie, Ron, Glen or Damon is cool, for us to disagree over whether or not O is exploiting the Tempts' memory and he should hang it up is cool, for us to disagree whether or not Dennis is trying to cheat people into thinking his group is the Tempts is cool. (Those are all hypotheticals by the way, not saying you REALLY believe any of that, just examples.) But unlike all those things, we all know that WEIGHT is a sensative subject, it's akin to saying "Dennis is ugly." Not something we'd want anyone to say about us.
To me, what you said just, well, wasn't nice. And call me old fashion but I believe in being "nice."
Would you have said it if we were all sitting in a room with Dennis? I know I wouldn't. And therefore I wouldn't say it here.
Again, not saying you shouldn't say things like that, but if it's cool for you to say things like that, it's also cool for me to disagree with you and say you're cruel. Make sense?

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FORM SUKKAFU TO THE DISTINGUISHED MEMBERS OF THE BOARD: i am truly sorry for offending my esteemed colleagues in this my favorite pastime other than baseball and eating watermelon. i hope to set the record straight. i did say dennis edwards is a porker. it was a mean and uncalled for statement of someone i don't know personally but do admire his musical history and singing voice. i also was a little overboard on my tirades, i would like to tell you all that i will never express my differing opinions in an angry or mean way ever again. call me mr. nice guy from now on. it will still be sukkafu with his crazy posts-but not filled with venom. |
