You've done it now Ivory, now my mind is only on Krispy Kremes. Oh by the way Dennis and his group will be in my neck of the woods Thursday. I'll have a few then too. ;D

no grocery chains have them yet, but i was at the padres-arizona game last night and the lady next to me was mackin' on her box of 4 for 4bucks. remember babygirl that we only got walmart in california in 1991 and it took 7 yrs later to get them in san diego . we now have about 8 or 10 walmarts in san diego. krispy kremes will probably come to the supermarkets. in 1992 we got entenmann's bakery cakes and cookies out here in the grocers. i grew up with that stuff in the 60's in nyc. in 1978 we finally got thomas' english muffins in l.a. - i grew up with that stuff in nyc. did you ever hear of BIG LOTS? they just changed the name of our stores here called pic-n-save to big lots. they say it's always been owned by big lots but never changed the name til this year. i thought piggly wiggly was the stupidest name for a grocery chain but we have ralphs, vons, and albertsons . ralphs is part of krogers, vons is owned by safeway, and albertson's is their own huge deal. did you ever hear of EDY'S ice cream? we call it DREYER'S out here. did you ever hear of HELLMANN'S mayonnaise? we call it BEST FOODS out here! we have no SHONEY'S out here, but you guys had them in nashville when i went in 1994. you guys ever hear of CARL'S JR? it's a very big burger chain out here. how about RUBIO'S FISH TACOS? they are to die for out here, but i bet you are poppin' your eyes out at the thought of fish tacos.

Well Sukka, maybe if you got more white trash out there in CA you'd get more Walmarts, one tends to attract another. And don't know the Piggly Wiggly now, that's another TN product. Incidentally, it was also the first grocery in the world where you picked your own groceries. Before that, all the items were behind a counter and a clerk got them down for you. Yep, we've still got LOTS and LOTS of Shoney's, they're headquartered here in Nashville. I grew up on their spaghetti with LOTS of "Shoney's Special Seasoning," (which turns out to be All-spice) and LOTS of parmesean cheese....... And don't get me STARTED on the Hot Fudge Sundae Cake (click three times)..... Yep, we've got Big Lots, one of my favorite places. But lately the title of "Favorite Bargain Store," title has been going to Price Cutters.

shoney's ain't for phoneys or a sandwich of baloney but they're the real deal where you gets a square meal and the real treat is the cake is so sweet that you just gotta eat and eat and eat. big lots is for tots and those that squat and those that have and the have nots -they have a selection of stuff with price protection and it's never a question it is discontinued -dude.
