How many of you noticed that the "Review" was on the court in Detroit for a halftime show during one of the NBA Finals games? The announcer billed them as "The Temptations"; however, when I saw the jumbotron behind the announcer, I saw Big Ole Edwards there singing! Anyone else saw or noticed this?  ? |

Thats what really gets me.. someone who schedules the acts.. they really need to know and put the correct groups name and announce it like that.. lots of people have been disapointed and feel cheated when they think they will see one group and its really another.. course.... the halftime show isnt what the fans went to go see, but I sure can feel for the ones that thought it was going to be the Temptations.. and it wasnt.. and then the ones that just didnt know any better and thought they were the Tempts.. will go on and continue thinking it was the temptations... oh well.. nope.. I didnt see that game... what did they sing?

Yes, you are right Coey. I saw the announcement for the finals a while ago (hubby showed it to me, believing they were the real Temptations ;D), and I couldn't believe my eyes ... I hope nobody blames Dennis for that mistake.

I hope nobody blames Dennis for that mistake. naaa I dont think anyone would blame any of the entertainers... they would blame the person who schedules the acts or writes up the schedule.. or someone else.... ( I would think..) |

i saw that too and i was  >:(because they are supposed to be dennis edwards and the temptations review. it happened last year too!!! |

Wow! This happened to me in October of 2000 here in Chicago. My mother works for a hospital and they always had these fancy dinner/benefits. Well, my mother surprised me one day and said that The Temptations were going to be at the next one. I kind of found that odd since the dinner was just in a banquet hall, but I went anyway. The program even said tonight's entertainment, The Temptations. When I saw Dennis get on the stage with these four guys I was like, "What the hell is this?" I did end up being satisfied though, Dennis' voice hasn't changed. I loved the show, and afterward I took a picture with Dennis by his limo. I also got autographs from the other four guys. I'm just glad it didn't end up being Richard Street's group. Don't get me wrong, Richard was a great Tempt. I've seen clips of his group though, and I don't think I could sit through it. He sings most of the leads in their show, even the Eddie songs!

Glad you enjoyed the show. He did sound a little different when he was way overweight, but since he's lost a bunch of weight, he sounds like the same ole Dennis. *Whew* I feel better!  |

Yeah, I thought it was 'therefor ordered, adjudged and decreed' in civil court that Dennis could not be billed as the Temptations alone - only as the Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards. The promoters should be to blame though. A clause might give Dennis exemption from any liability though.
