I like the one where he said ...... "If you want to hear the classic five, put a CD in!" but I'm too lazy to go back and find it again.

aba sure is a blind loyalist! he probably would say the same thing about those kids on the american dream show that were supposed to be the tempts! don't diss them either! if they sing bad and can't dance, they dissed me! sorry pal! it's your nickel-blow it the way you want to! i don't waste my time and money on fake ass tempts! the quality of the songs since the motown show is so out of the league of the hof6 it is embarrassing! good thing they had the fantasy miniseries so that they could revive the temptations name on the otis b.s. ! too bad david, eddie, and paul don't get royalties for their families when otis ' boys sing their hits!

My loyalty is to the legacy of the Temptations. Not even the fact that some are my friens. If I felt the way you do I would have stopped going when Glenn left. I loved the Temptations before Glenn was in the Group and will continue to love them until they are through. It is ok to feel that they don't compare to the C5 ot HOF6 and they don't. They are different sets of Temptations under the same banner. And that's ok. I don't walk around preaching their greatness as singers, only their right to be called the Temptations. Even if you don't like what they bring to the table, they are STILL THE TEMPTATIONS. I like Dennis' group. I don't think they are the best singers either but I went to their show, came away impressed enough to feel it was worth my time and money to see them and I would see them again. They only have two bonified singers in that group too. And that's Dennis and David but as a group they put on a good show. I just want to be entertained and both groups do that. I'm not crazy about all their interpretations of the songs but is it enough for me to diss em', no, I'm not going there. They work as hard as any group of Temptations before them and deserve whatever praise has been bestowed upon them. I may be a blind loyalist but you now have become an extremist. You can't go from one day giving partial credit to the next saying they can't sing.

Well said, Aba. If you look at what passes for entertainment and talent these days, both the Tempts and the Review far outclass today's groups The may not be the HOF 6 or the Classic 5, but they sure put on a concert perfomance that will top any other group you see touring these days. Class, grace, talent, dedication.... today's artists pale by comparison. Both groups strive to maintain the standard set by the Classic 5 - even if they don't quite measure up - they are still miles ahead of everyone else.

Of course he does, but he has to work to put the show together and maintain it. Not to mention the actual sweating he does during the show. He deserves it. Surely you're not suggesting that the classic Tempts' families deserve a cut of ticket sales? If it makes you feel any better, O did pay out a hefty sum to Melvin's widow to buy out her half of the performing rights.

LOL! I'm about to have to make a new rule that says, "Thou shalt not talk about serious, Tempts-related things in the lounge." I'm afraid some folks may miss this wonderful debate!!!! (ha ha, I'm just kidding! I love you guys. )
