I hope no one mentions "drought" here this year. We have water still standing and mountains of ice in parking lots waiting to melt.

Grrr... the past 2 days have been a complete turnaround. It felt like I was in Germany again. Wednesday I guess a "warm front' blew over the AUG, and it was real nice, 72 degrees, something we haven't seen in a while. I was suprised because at 10:00 at night it was still nice and warm outside. Then Thursday it was warm once again, the whole day. Then the clouds come and today it was just only 52. Thats a 20 degree drop. Oh well, when the heat comes, it'll come!

well, cadeho, i live in southern california-which has more variety than you'll ever have in richmond. why? because within a 2 hour drive -i could be in the mountains skiiing in the 30's with snow, then go down to the beach and surf, then go to the desert and 4 wheel in the sand dunes on atc's, and then go to the valleys and pick fruits. the forecast for today was this- it was 76 inland,67 at the beaches, 83 in the desert, 51 in the mtns, and it was either 38 for a low in the mtns, 55 at the beaches, 48 inland, 53 in the deserts. isn't that quite a variety?

We're talking weather and climate, not geography.
Besides, you have to pick up and go somewhere for you to see anything. It's good to have a variety in WEATHER where you stay put!

planet earth to cadeho- i wasn't talking geography- the geography is quite varied here which is why the weather and climate is different. but the point is you can experience any kind of warmth or cold here in a short distance. you can't do that in richmond.

You can in North Carolina, Sukkafu! Ski resorts in Boone, Grandfather Mountain, Asheville... the Piedmont and sandhills of Charlotte, Fayetteville, golf heaven in Pinehurst, the beautiful beaches at Atlantic Beach, Wilmington, and just 175 miles south, you've got Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Charleston. Don't sell the mid-Atlantic region short, my friend.

Back at you! STAY PUT! Let the weather come to you, not go to some other geographical location that happens to have a different climate and weather. My point was about variations in temperatures in one place, not going off somewhere to find it...
