At the Union County Fine Arts Center in Rahway New Jersey, THe Temptation Expirence, featuring Glenn Leonard performed in front of a half filled house. But don't let that fool Ya! The Show was a last minute take and those in attendance were treated to a great show............Glenn Leonard can still sing and when he walked out singing Try To Remember with out music............it was on!!!! At different points in the show he sang Johnnie Mae and Can I and the crowd went crazy......Then there was the tribute to the C5 which was done beautifully by GLenn......but that was just the first half of the show......................
After intermission the surprise of the evening came out..........the latest former lead singer of the Temptations, BARRINGTON HENDERSON!!!!! And he did not disappoint. With only a short rehearsal or two under his belt, He sang Stay and then traded leads with Glenn and Freddie their other lead singer........I was impressed. They closed the show with I Can't Get Next To You and I'm Losing You to two standing ovations....................they came back for an encore and sang Everything Is Going To Be All Right............more cheers and applause!!!!!!!! I really enjoyed the show............very entertaining and upbeat!!!!
During the show I sat next to Ray Davis, the former Temptation Bass Singer and HallOf Famer who replaced Melvin and sang on For Lovers Only. He told me recording that cd was one of the greatest times in his life. He truly loves that cd. And so do I............We traded bass voices for a minute. He Won.........Hands Down!!! ;D ;D
I also had a chance to sit with Bo and Glenn in the dressing room before and after the show. Bo said during the short time he has been with Glenn's guys he finds them very nice and they were urging him to get off during the show and he did. It appeared to me that their was genuine like for Bo from the other guys even though somebody is going to be replaced.......... It looks like a nice fit to me and I can see some good things with this group of guys................
They perform tomorrow in Beachaven, New Jersey.............don't know the venue but if you are near there and not busy.................go see them! You won't be mad! I promise!

Somebody did........................maybe we can get them.........They wore white leather suits in the second half of the show and some real nice black suits in the first half.............
I wanted to add that during the C5 tribute which was done while he sang Johnnie Mae, after he named each one, he sang but he's not here no more......no moooore! That was nice and at the end he gave big props to Otis for keeping the dream alive and maiking it possible for him to continue to work at what he loves to do most and that is sing..............I thought that was very nice............

Glenn is a class act! Glad to here the show was really good, Aba. Sounds like you had a great time. What a surprise about Bo Henderson... I hope this new arrangement will work out for all involved. These groups have really had a history of turnover - it would be nice to see them settle at this stage in life. I really hope someone will post pics from the show. BTW where is Glenn, Jr these days? We haven't heard from him in a long time. He was a regular poster.

Awwwww...I get choked up thinking about Glenn's beautiful voice doing the "Johnnie Mae" refrain when talking about his departed brothers.... :hug :hug to Glenn for that! and how nice that he gives respect to Otis also...very much a class act! AND..."Everything is Gonna Be All Right"...sheesh!! I hope they do well and make their way to the West!!

It looked really good to see them together........and don't be surprised if there aren't other changes in the future as Glenn fine tunes his group to make them a force to be reckoned with!!! I 'digs' surprises Aba! Like the time back in the early 70's in Detroit when my best friend (Maurice) and i were walking past the Motown building (not to be confused with "Hitsville" on West Grand Blvd) on Woodward Ave which was only 2 blocks from the Fox Theater. Suddenly some dude seemed like he 'snuck' up from behind me and put his hand on my left shoulder with which, according to Maurice; who was cracking up, i reacted with a look of sheer terror on my face. It was some guy i didn't recognize. A few minutes later Maurice said, "you don't know who that was man?" I said, "Nah, who was he". "That was Bobby Blue Bland"! What was he doing at Motown? I couldn't tell you. I never heard that he recorded or was on Motown's Label. Can't wait to hear "Bo" sing 'Hurt So Bad" and "How Could He Hurt You" and Glenn doing "In A Life Time' and Ever Ready Love". Just think Aba. If Richard were there, he could do "Heavenly" and "Hey Girl" Ali, "Treat Her Like A Lady" and "Lady Soul"!!! UH OH, I'm feeling faint again. Goodbye!

Bo will be doing special guest appearances for now.........from my understanding he is not a permanent member of the group at this time...so catch him while you can............that's not to say he couldn't be in the future........Sorry if i confused anyone................it was still a great show.............!!!

Melody............As far as what lines he sang on I Can't Get To You..........he sang whatever line came next to be honest that wasn't GLenn's line so he sang Dennis and Paul lines............. And Kalisa.................the "twisties" are back!!!! ;D
