Thanks Curet30 but we da men!!! I wanted to say to Peach that I respect your opinion of the show you saw and the way you thought out your comments before writing them. There are many who like the Review better than the Temptations and I see nothing wrong with that. I thought it was said the way it should be said, you prefer the Review and you didn't have to diss the Tempts to say so. Naturally! To prefer the Review is *not* saying that the Temptations are not good! They are fantastic! But this is *two* shows where I've gone away with.....an empty feeling. Maybe it was just me. I will *still* say that, as a fan, BOTH groups are great performers. Peach

One other thing, I think I successfully brought my convert over onto the "dark side." ;D I would say she is officially a "Tempt Fanatic." She started asking questions about the various line-ups.....wanted to borrow the movie to catch up on a little missed history, etc. It's always good to snare another fan!!!!! Peach

I'm glad you tested it, Peach...I have no way of testing, and I had done what I knew to fix it but no way to know if it worked .

One other thing I noticed that I forgot to mention.... they did a total of *two* songs that were Dennis leads: "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" and "Ball of Confusion." (And that was a shortened version of it.) I'm wondering... do you think it's for a reason? Peach

Peach, In your review you mention it was a Tempts crowd. Other people who have written me about the concert in Denver have verified that. They talked on and on about the Tempts and didn't even mention the Tops.
When I saw the Tempts and the Tops a year ago in concert, the Tops came on first, and I was worried that perhaps the crowd would be so tired after a long Tops concert, they would have no energy left to hear the Tempts. It was almost midnight when the Temptations finished; you can imagine how late it was when they began. There was a long intermission between the Tops and the Tempts while the bands changed.
And then the Temptations came on the stage. Without any prior indication, the whole audience stood up in respect and admiration and clapped. I was astounded. They had not stood up for the Tops. It was really pretty awesome. In essence, the audience was saying, "These are the legendary Temptations, and we bow in respect and admiration."
Oh, yes, they stood at the end too and clapped and cheered. They wanted the Temptations to continue, but by then it was midnight, and there was a "Meet and Greet" reception to follow.
The one thing that always amazes me is that there is always someone standing with tears in their eyes. Sometime I'll ask one of these if this is the first time they have ever seen the Tempts, or if they always cry when they see them.

Meaning with a silhouette shirt, it doesn't matter *who* is in the group.....there are no faces on it! Less money spent that way. ;D Peach Peach you are so silly I enjoyed your review. The concert I went to they had on Black and Yellow suits. I am BIG fan but I was not going to buy that shirt :laughing. Terry is a wonderful singer and dancer and he is a cutie .Joe is very good. A Meet and Greet for VIPs only). How do the non VIP's get a pass? ;D ;D

"Meet and Greets" are fundraisers held by the sponsoring organization. All you have to do is put money in the pot to get to meet the entertainers. When the Tempts and Tops perform together, you get to see all of them.
Now sometimes the sponsoring organization saves the tickets for these affairs for those who have contributed the most money to the event. Other times tickets are sold, the one I went to cost $125, and for that money you are promised an excellent seat, a reception and to get to meet and greet the Temptations. These fundraisers are for some charitable organization. ANd, of course, the sponsoring organization may be a charitable organization and use the event as their main fundraiser. The New Orleans Zoo used the Temptations performance as a BIG fundraiser. Tickets were over $200. But the money went to the Zoo.
There was one way over $100 which included dinner with Harry Belafonte. It was benefiting something or other.
So these people aren't really VIP's in the normal sense. All it means is that they are VIP's in their contributions.

The one thing that always amazes me is that there is always someone standing with tears in their eyes. Sometime I'll ask one of these if this is the first time they have ever seen the Tempts, or if they always cry when they see them. They did shake *A LOT* of hands that night. I shook Ron's and Joe's. :inlove I didn't try very hard to get Otis' handshake as I had already had that experience in September. ;D Hee! And G.C...... I'm afraid of that guy. And Terry....just too cute so I was too shy. The audience adored them.....clapping on and on for Otis. Here is an exact quote from my newbie Temptations Recruit: "I had a really great time and am glad I went. Don't care a whole lot for the front row though because of the looking up factor....plus, you feel like you have to be alert 24/7 incase they look at you. They both did a great job, I was really impressed & will probably go again." She's nuts about the front row comment..... there is NO other way to see a show, neck ache and all! Peach

Good grief! What's the world coming too when a woman can't take her baby and her CD to a show, wave it around in front of Otis and can't get to meet him. I think the man is slipping. Glad to hear your had a good time but am NOT glad to hear you won't be going again. This is not acceptable. :nono ............ But maybe the big O-cephus in his omniscient wisdom could sense this ........
