I think the cancer is prostate cancer. And today with medicines/hormones/radiation/surgery peope live for years and year with prostate cancer. There are several forms of prostate cancer, and while it is a slow-moving type of cancer, some types of prostate cancer are really slow moving. In most cases once a man reaches a certain stage (over 65) they doctors rarely perform surgery because they feel the cancer is so slow moving the patient is most likely to die of something else.

Someone I know was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1991. He had sugery and the cancer had spread. The doctor said 5-10 years. He died 12 years later of something entirely different, and the cancer had not spread any more since the original diagnosis.

However, a stroke is a different matter.

Yeah Jane, I think what's really keeping Levi out of commission is the stroke.

Thanks for the info on the Theo and the Four Tops, I was looking at another thread with 2 pics of Theo with the Tops and tryng to figure out when he joined. One pic has Levi in it. temptsinfo.com/smilies/wtg.gif

If you're looking for a year Violet, Theo joined the Tops in '99 if I'm remembering correctly, about a year after he left the Tempts. Levi, Duke and Obie performed as just "The Tops" there for a while after Lawrence's death.
