Yeah, the heat. My car isn't worth as much as it would cost to fix the A/C. AND, I HATE shorts! So even though I'm burning up, I'm wearing jeans. Yeah, I'm stupid.

And I hate how I'm always ready to go back to school after the first, oh, two weeks. I am a loser.

This thread is right up my alley!! I do hate summer. I truly do. We had a perfect June...it was cool...70s mostly, even some 60s! We had days so cool the nights were almost cold. I was in HEAVEN. (And my sister-in-law was saying, "Gosh, I wish it would warm up. It doesn't even *seem* like summer and we want to go to the pool. Summer is supposed to be hot." ) Then today.....and this week...promises of 90s. Folks, last summer was akin to Hell.... I think we had 40+ days at 90 or above. Something like that...maybe more. The first 4 years in my house, I didn't have any A/C. I was a bear. I finally got a window unit last year, so it's tolerable. But I cannot stand hot weather..... I love 70s year round. I don't even mind winter and snow. I'd much rather bundle up than try to cool off. And my little girl doesn't do well in the heat either. We are a pair!!!! ;D So...besides the hot weather, any other reasons why I hate it? Yes....mosquitoes are really bad....sunburns.... can't go for walks because it's too hot by the time I'm done with work.... constant reminders of the thunderstorms that bypass us *always* and hit everywhere else in Colorado..... dried up messed up lawn that is in need of TLC....mowing that dried up messed up lawn.... I had a bad day, can you tell? Peach

you had a great day- you lived in a free land and had access to the tempts info board to share your feelings with your extended ''family''- you and anna are fine, she's going to be ok, and colorado is a beautiful place-even when it's hot sometimes! you had a lovely day- you just didn't see it that way!

Well, I hate this summer b/c of all the freakin rain we've gotten!!! Oh yeah, and all the tourists who seem to come out of nowhere and clock the train entrances and keep those who know what they are doing from being able to get on before the doors shut.

Oh, SOOKA , you are right.... I did think of *one* more thing I don't like about summer. We get these cellar spiders in our house in the summer.... I don't know why they migrate indoors every summer, but they do. They look like Daddy Long Legs, but they aren't because...did you know that Daddy Long Legs are *not* spiders?? They have only one body segment!! And they don't spin webs. (They are called Harvestmen.) However, if you see something that looks just like a Daddy Long Legged "spider," yet has a body like a spider with 2 segments *and* spins webs....then it's a Cellar Spider. (Or Vibrating Spider. And some scientists even call them Daddy Long Legged Spiders, to further confuse things!) This is one of those things you learn by being a Researcher like me. It drove me nuts that these "things" were invading our house in the summer... I've even had one...get this....CRAWLING ON MY FACE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!!! I thought it was my cat tickling me with her whiskers. Nasty!!!!! So, you can see, that summer is *not* my favorite season. ;D Peach

we have plenty of harvestmen- they are extremely poisonous but yet harmless to man- why- because their jaws are too small to penetrate our skin!
at least you don't live in the south by new orleans where they just had a foot of rain and flooding from tropical storm bill- and they have palmetto bugs which are the size of footballs flying in your face!

That's disgusting!! I really hope you're exaggerating. The size of footballs? Yuck!! Down in Charlotte, at school, we have these huge trees. And as soon as the weather breaks, these little nasty neon green worms come out and weave webs in the leaves. They ended up looking suspended in air. I hate those things. I don't know what they are called, but I am always tempted to call them little green ((s-words))
