Now Aba, you've touched on something that's fascinated me for almost 30 years. I remember when I was a little girl, I saw someone on a TV show wearing platforms with the goldfish in the heel. Now this was about the same time that I was running from my friend's black-power fisted afro-pick. But anyway, I've been fascinated with those shoes ever since. How long would an average goldfish survive in those shoes? Did you feed them? Didn't they get dizzy? I realize you just said YOU didn't wear any, but you must have known someone who did. Did Dr. J own any? What about the ultimate pimp Wilt? Some day, 30 years from now, I'll be explaining to a twenty-something year old why the guys of my generation wore chrome on their shoes.

Btw, I'm taking donations for my "Ivory wants to buy and fix up a Lincoln Mark V as it was the baddest car ever made" fund.

Ivory...I think I love you...that was a serious car and of course I had a Mark ll and a Mark ll as well as Mark 7.
As for the shoes, they were stricly movie stuff. I had platforms but they were not pimp shoes. They just had the high heels for wearing with bell bottoms. Huggy bear's shoes were just for the movie. Now you might have seen something like that at a playa's ball or something back in the day! I can't really imagine a shoe with a gold fish being very practical, you think? ;D

Oh yeah, that car had a big fat grill, fins and the little window in the back. Plus, it takes up two parking spaces! What more could you ask for! .............. That was the first car that I knew of that had power windows. When I road around in my friend's mom's Lincoln ("this car is named after the President" I remember thinking) and saw all the bells and whistles it had, including the windows, well, it was love at first sight. I went right home and told my Dad all about it, I even suggested that he should get one, "you push a button and the window goes down by itself!" I couldn't understand why he didn't just rush right out and get one!

because power windows were around since 1948! the baddest pimpmobile was a 1976 red white and blue cadillac eldorado convertible-the last one that rolled off the assemblyline in detroit that year for the bicentennial. i drove a 1976 red eldo conv with white leather interior in 1980 as a demo when i was a car salesman.that sucker had a 500 cubic inch v8!it weighed 6000 lbs and was the anchor for the queen mary! everybody looked at me like i was a dealer! and not used cars either!

The Tempts wore platform shoes. I thought that they would hurt themselves performing in the shoes.

THE PIMPMOBILE!!!! I stills ee a lot of cool daddies still driving those things... and it seemes like that was the only color available!
I actually wondered what happened if the glass broke. I cringe when the shoes break in "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka!" I also wonder if the poor fish got slammed up against the glass a lot.. you'd end up killing them walking!
