Why didn't this album do well, I thought side two was really well done.
The album reminded me of "A Song for You" but for some reason it fell off on the charts and the sales were not very good.
I wonder WHY?

There was too much bickering on this lp. They tried to make it an almost Dennis solo effort at times not even using the Temptations to sing the background vocal..............it may be my least favorite lp by the group. The producer, Bowen on this cd wanted Dennis to sing every song and the hell with the rest of the group. I think a fist fight supposedly broke out during the production of this lp.

i think the writing on side one was kind of weak, side two was much better..........................Jeffrey Bowen need to include anthony carmicheal like on a song for you..........................."Q"

"Wings of Love" was a mess, an overproduced mess... As for Dennis, I'm not crazy about anything he did here, I think Bowen was talking ying-yang to him and it got to his head.
That Sly Stone stuff was dated from the git-go. Not surprisingly he never really did too much in the realm of innovation ever again...

HMMMMMM......I think side 1 was a mess...somewhat sweet gypsy jane.....up a creek without a paddle sweetness in the dark was a sexy funky song richard was OK on china doll overall i thought the album had a shot....if motown had brought it out right after "a song for you" Doc T
