Suppose somebody in the audience had asked them to do, "Born To Love You" or "You're My Everything"instead. The fire marshal would have had to evict everyone out, it would've been so hot...

I think this is perfect as is! EXCEPT... Every time David stops and says "That's enough of THAT.." I shout back "NO IT'S NOT, KEEP GOING DAVID & EDDIE!!!" LOL! And... There won't ever be more I think the wonder of this is the harmony... Eddie so sweet and pure... and catching David going from "Once I could..." down lower, and then getting way above Eddie on "SEEEEEE", then back down to the "Once I could..." and up again... he had an amazing vocal instrument and used it to perfection!! Now, "You're My Everything" is one of my all-time favorites, I LOVE the 'sing-off' between Eddie and David... but it doesn't present the opportunity for them to harmonize so beautifully as this one does... its a trade-off. Best thing we have going on "You're My Everything" is the vocals + Jamerson only found on the 2-CD Deluxe sound track set of Standing in the Shadows of Motown (NOT the DVD movie), a portion of which is posted up here... temptsinfo.proboards10.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=listen&thread=1097274257&start=0I still can't believe, after all of those years, they could slip that easily into that song. And they were the only two who could sing that, since no one else, including Dennis, would be able to pick it up so fast. Eddie sung that with no effort, seemingly. Trading leads on "You're My Everything" would have been spectacular. And "Born To Love You" would've have gotten the harmonies AND the trading leads. "What Now My Love", though, might be the best segment of the show. Jeez, the big guns couldn't get back together one more time to sing with each other.

i like the version that is on temptations live!! Which is why the 1991 version is so remarkable. It sounds like all you needed was Otis, Paul and Melvin in Las Vegas. the Tempts Live version is the one I've heard the most, gorwoing up listening to that.
