Last night I was coming home from rehearsals and was listening to a local radio station and a song came over the air that truly struck a memory back to Eddie's solo days. The song was "Happy". As I listened to the song, I thought to myself about the contributions that Eddie had made to the music industry. As a member of a group, he set a presedence as a 1st tenor for future tenor singers. Pushing future singers to the limit when it came to reaching for notes. Style. The brother was a style setter both on and off stage. As a solo performer he nothing less than a consumate entertainer. I have to thank God for giving me the opportunity to have been able to see Eddie with the Tempts and as a solo performer.

From the mellow as in "Just My Imagination" to the sweet in Smokey's "You Can Depend On Me" and reaching the wail of a melodic siren in "Paradise", Mr. Kendrick's mold was broken only to be filled by a gallant whisper of what once was. I too saw Eddie, but as one-fith of the greatest singing group ever. I love all the tenors that came after him. They carried and still keep his "Legacy" fresh and flourishing. Yet when it comes to the "Question" of who is the tenor's tenor, as Eddie sings in "You've Got to Earn It", "Throw those other guys right out of your head yeah yeah." Bassinger, here's to your keen observation. Nate "Boomer

The phrasing, the scowl when he sings, the brilliant double riffs at the end of a verse, the sweetness, the mellow, the textured vocals, the subtle movement when he's croonin', the pointing up in the air when he hits a high note!! Oooo ooo Wee!! All the voices in the world can't convey What Eddie's voice had to say He gave to us everyday Eddie's love(ly voice) :wtg -Nate "Boomer"

Johnny Mae was the ultimate Eddie experience for me. The hurt in his natural tenor as he laments over the lose of the woman he loves. Those high notes at the end that seem like he's crying into the mic. Eddie K. ruled the day , then , now and forever more. So smooth, so cool and a gentleman 100%. I will always treasure the time I got to spend with him one December weekend in 1971.

I had the opportunity to see the Temptations perform many times in person when I was a teenager and I was always mesmerized by Eddie's voice . When I listen to the Mellow Mood cd, I am in awe of how smooth, rich, and sensual his voice is. He was truly special. :inlove
