Standing in the Shadows of Motown was named as one of the Top Ten Films of 2002 by USA TODAY today. This is the top ten of all types of films, and SITSOM was the only documentary chosen.
I think it has an excellent chance of getting an Oscar. The same company that produced or released (whatever the correct term is) the movie THE TEMPTATIONS produced SITSOM. If I remember correctly, the same director did both.
Standing in the Shadows of Motown is a tremendous achievement. Every week more and more theaters are signing up to show it.

:clapping: temptsinfo.com/smilies/wtg.gif :yourock: I MORE THAN THINK that "Standing In The Shadows of Motown" MORE THAN DESERVES TO WIN A OSCAR". I would be more than pleased to see this happen.

From 1964 to 1968, the group had nine Number One singles on the Billboard pop charts including "Get Ready," "I'm Losing You" and "I Wish It Would Rain." www.chartsservice.de/historyusa4.htmIf Billboard is the same as USA charts, Temptations had only one Number One hit in 1964-1968. And that was My Girl.

The Tempts haven't had a lot of Billboard #1 Pop hits period. I believe My Girl was their first #1 followed by Can't get next to you, Just my imagination and Papa was a Rolling Stone. Thats only four (4) for their entire existence as a group. They still had a lot of hit records during the Ruffin era as well as the Edwards era. They just didn't reach number one.
