I once asked Otis Williams of the Temptations what he thought about the Rolling Stones' re-make of the Tempts' great song "Just My Imagination." Williams' reply? "It's exactly what you would expect the Rolling Stones to do to it," he said. Chet Flippo, Nashville Skylinewww.cmt.com/news/display/1458188.jhtml

Meaning what, Jonel? ;D
Oh! I'm sorry Jonel. I didn't see the link staring me in the face. He let the interviewer say what he probably wanted to say.

once again, jonel digs up the deepest research and obscure stuff and once again, i'm grateful! each day from my court seat i watched him as he passed the ball, i 'd say to myself, this guy seems 10 feet tall. to have a star like him, is truly a dream come true out of all the ballers in the world, he's in front of me.. well it was just my aba, running in front of me, it was just my aba21, running to victory!

I used to be a crazy Stones fan as a teenager, and that was the only version in my head.... now, it has thankfully been erased and no memory remains. ;-) Also, their version of "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." Gone. And Mick and Peter Tosh singing "Don't Look Back." It's history. Good Lord, what was I thinking? I'm not against remakes....heck, I can't be. I like Elvis. LOL ;-) But nobody can do Tempts songs anymore....... give me the original. Peach

i miss you too laura!
please, return yourself to me, remember how we love your posts...
peach, my best bud is a stones nut. he loves the motown scene too. i think the stones really respected motown - they sang ain't too proud, imagination, going to a go go, dancin in the streets(mick jagger-david bowie),as well as harlem shuffle, not fade away, and blues songs were huge in england. led zeppelin, eric clapton, and the stones all sang blues songs. the stones did so many chuck berry songs and the beatles did a couple of them too, as well as please mr. postman..

I agree that the Stones respected Motown!!! It's not that I dislike their remakes.... it's just not natural. ;-) When I hear "Just My Imagination," I want to hear Eddie's beautiful falsetto. The funny thing is, when I was young I disliked a falsetto voice. Now...I think it's just plain angelic. Peach
