Has anyone else wasted $500+ on this piece of garbage? Unless I just happen to be THE ONE person who purchased a faulty player, my advice would be to avoid it altogether. If sound quality is as important to you as it is to me (and you have the ears to tell the difference), this thing just doesn't cut it! Biggest complaints: - WEAK bass; almost entirely flat, mid-range/treble sounds - No equalizer to adjust sound to personal preferences - Sensitive laser; skips terribly on clean CDs which play fine everywhere else - CDs get stuck in player because of poor design - Cost ($550...and no subwoofer or bass boost to assist performance?) Simply put, it's the most expensive alarm clock/radio I ever bought! It just doesn't live up to the hype. Both my computer and (standard) car audio systems blow this thing away. It doesn't even match the sound produced by the $150 "boom-box" it was supposed to replace. If you're simply looking to save space, however, you're in luck! It's very compact and appealing to the eye. Unfortunately, the sound quality is what it was designed for and it comes up way short. That's my gripe for the day.

Beej, I couldn't resist logging in to compliment you on a beautifully written review. You filled all the requirements for a professional review.
But the best parts were your humorous touches. I loved the sentence, "Simply put, it's the most expensive alarm clock/radio I ever bought!"
Many of us have bought items where that description would apply.
My second favorite sentences are, "If you're simply looking to save space, however, you're in luck! It's very compact and appealing to the eye."
As to it's doing what a review should do, you're on the ball. I am very displeaed with my tiny boom-box which was very, very cheap. It does not do a thing right. I thought buying a Bose would surely get me the qualilty I want, although I did wonder if I had the kind of ears or the money to appreciate quality.
Now I know quality can be found at less money. A millionaire once told me quality is found in the middle price bracket.
