Oh .................. y'all are just jealous that you haven't slept with the song lyrics (which, as always, is not to be confused with the LYRICIST) like I have. Don't be JEALOUS!!!!! That ain't nothing to brag about.

The worst Tempts song ever? Hmmm "Don't Send Me Away"!! Almost bad enough to make you wanna rename the album from WITH A LOT O' SOUL to WITH A LOT O' NERVE!! That song sucks and I don't care if Eddie DID write it...it still sucks...LOL Ivory, I know Otis is your man but I'm sorry, brotha man just don't have it.

Not because Eddie wrote it,but I have to disagree with you on that one. Otis' best! Mike, my fellow NYer...up against the likes of "Please Return Your Love To Me"... "For Once In My Life"..."(I Know) I'm Losing You"...you mention "Don't Send Me Away"?? Can't figure that one out...but I WILL give the O man his props...on the 2 CD set 25th ANNIVERSARY, there is a song Otis sings called "Dreammaker". Now THAT is Otis' best lead...forget "Don't Send Me Away"...that song will make you wanna send him away...FAR, FAR AWAY!! ;D

That goes up against the other tunes that you mentioned? Think about it! No, it goes up against "Don't Send Me Away"!! Given a choice between those two..I'll take "Dreammaker" anyday...To be honest...nuttin Otis sang lead on can touch anything David, Eddie, Paul and Dennis sang...Even Melvin could hold his own... but Otis couldn't carry a tune even if ya gave him a bag to put it in... ;D

"Ain't no words to this song"? Then what you need the Tempts for, then?? And I know EJK hated it, the whole psychedelic thing, in fact...but a lot of that stuff was cool...

Cheech helped me out and included "Don't Send Me Away." Let me tell you...I thought it was some kind of joke. I couldn't figure out if it was the mix or Otis' voice, but something was seriously wrong. Peach

I guess it's evident that there was no "studio magic" or "vocal sweetening" back in '66 with "Don't Send Me Away"....looks like "Dreammaker" had a LOT of it in force... ;D

See,y'all done did it now! I can't believe that I'm doing this, and I'm being for real . :banghead :faint: :shocked I think that you need to listen again. And while you are listening,I'll give you a few more to listen to.....Don't Send Me Away is a good song..and I think that Otis does a great job on it..I wish he would sing it in concert. Otis does a great job on This Guy's In Love With You on the "Talk Of The Town" LP & The "Diana Ross & The Supremes Join The Temptations" LP. He also adds flavor to "Can't You See Sweet Thing" on the "Power" LP. His rap part is right on time on "Touch Me" and "My Love Is True...Truly.For You" I'm not saying that he can sing any song, but when used right...he can sound good. This ain't got nothing to do with Otis, the author,or Executive Movie Producer. Like I said I can't agree and keep silent about something that I know not to be such...that's a sin. You should listen to those songs ..with good volume and come back. Otis handles his "LEAD SINGING" business on those songs. And, truth be told...I mean every word I said in this post. You know I don't say things just to get on people's good side. I have to keep a balance on this board...NO DOUBLE STANDARD !

Mike, trust me!! I have listened to it more than once... all the way through...again and again. Why? Because it puzzles me. I don't dislike the song.... I just can't figure out what he's doing in it....if there is something I'm hearing wrong. And I don't hit "skip" when it comes on..... I'm telling the TRUTH, man! Peach
