Oh I heard the capital city got it worse? But the luck of mine, everything melted, and so Im sure school & work will go o as scheduled. But one thing I dont understand, how can ice melt, if the temperature is 10? We got nothing but cold weather in the capital city, Durham and parts west got the actual sleet and freezing rain. You may have been confused about our fiasco on Wed....The snow just paralized us....Traffic for miles and hours.

I am just south of Charlotte and we got NOTHING...I think that is the only part of NC not getting something

I missed this thread.
We got snow in Richmond this winter? Did we? This was the WORST winter ever! And what drove me crazy and made me so mad were the tv anchors whining about when spring would get here as if we had to dig out of 5 feet of snow when all we got were an inch here and a trace there that was gone in a few hours. I love winter and I wish we had some real snow.
I also am tired of the rain/snow line hovering around Richmond giving us boring old rain or noisey sleet. At least give us enough sleet to make it look like winter and not like someone threw up oatmeal all over the place.
I like having snow in Richmond and here in Va because life doesn't keep going. Snow days are fun! I love watching snow fall, smelling the air, hearing the silence of its fall, feeling the cold flakes hit my face, and hearing the crunch as I walk through it. If people really have a problem with snow, DON'T DRIVE IN IT! Damn money-hungry, greedy companies who can't take at least one day's break. When they say don't go out, DON'T! and that way maybe the fools who don't like snow here won't have problems and won't be whining for the days of bug infestations, swampy air, violent thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, and tree sperm polluting the air.

I haven't seen snow since I left N.Y. and moved to Florida( I won't say how many years ago ). I would love to see some snow again because I love cold weather. My husband brought me here. Unfortunately, like Ed mentioned, we have to worry about tornados and hurrican season.
